1. whipping back that lure (thereby allowing the rod to load up) and casting it sidearmarm] with a flick of the wrist
2. immediately controlling the line out speed with the thumb lightly touching the spinning spool and stopping it when the desired distance is reached or letting it go for the longest cast possible.
If the weight cast is too light, the brake can't be set properly.
If too heavy for the brake setting, overwind bird's nest.
Better reels allow for lighter lures to be cast but there are limits. 1/32 - forget it!
