More Ice Fishing Toys
Well, in my quest to protect my ice rods when flying across the Berry at a gazilion miles an hour to keep from getting gobbled up by the slush monster, I went looking for a case for my ice rods. At Sportsman’s I ran across these cool arrow cases. They looked perfect but as it turns out, they are about ½ inch too thin. I still really like them even though I have to flip a bail back or remove a reel to get everything to fit.
This year has been my year for building ice fishing fish finders. Of the five I have built over the years, I built three of them this year. Here is a look at the last two.
The one that I call mine is the LCX 522c with internal GPS. I have no use for GPS in a ice fishing finder but it goes onto my boat in the summer and then the GPS is great.
The LCX 510c is the same as the 522 but without GPS. I built it for Bait_Caster. Since he already has a top-of-the-line Lowrance on the boat he uses, we decided we could save a few bucks and build his ice finder without the GPS.
Opened up, they contain, the head, transducer and Vexlar float, two batteries, RAM mounts, power cable, and plenty of padding for everything:
Packed up and ready for transport:
Bait_Caster and I are headed for the Berry in a couple of hours (2:00 AM) and will be giving the 510c it's madin voage.

"Fishing isn't a matter of life or death.
It's much more important than that."
