not sure why anyone cares about catching tiny little slimers anyways. never understood that about flyfisherman. granted there are a few hogs once in awhile but go pitch some huge jigs and catch some fat bass that will try and pull ya in. Tongue are the twins still banned? pretty sure they're booby trapping that place as we speak. still nothing compared to what us duck hunters do!!!!!

Youre right muskies and bass are so much better...pineview or willard is probably a better choice catch some real fish.

true,,,, just thought I'd take a shot at flyfisherman so this isn't a straight tydye provoking post. Wink I like to play devils advocate... just never understood the joy and beauty thing of seeing a 6 inch trout take a dry fly and the whole "river runs through it" sorta thing. I know ya can catch some toads fly fishing and fishing in some bigger rivers, I'm talkin small stream/fish stuff. whatever floats your boat I guess but I like hard fighting/jig smashing fish. instead of the slurp and wiggle fly fishing dinks.

I agree bass are tough, but they lack sophistication and live in trashy places. Trout are super high on the intelligence chart and thrive in pristine waters. Ya just can't beat alpine brook trout fishing.Badabang!
Just one more brookie........

I really like both quite honestly. Trout keep me busy when it's too cold for bass anyway. I think it really just depends on my mood. Some days I just feel more introspective and exploring a small stream and catching colorful trout on a fly rod is more what I'm looking for. If you use a light fly rod, even smaller trout put up a good fight.

Bass are a lot of fun. I probably spend more time fishing for them than I do trout. Now fly fishing for bass is the best of both worlds. Watching a big largemouth blow up on a popper has to be at the top of my list for favorite fishing moments.

I think that Alpine bow hunting would be a heck of a lot more worthy of the hike!

We have the LeBus picking everyone up at the Smiths parking lot on 106th South to take us up to the parking lot. There should be a string of pack horses and several ATV's there to take every one the rest of the way up.
