Closest pike?
My wife just delivered our first baby last Monday, so I'm a little strapped down as far as how far I can travel now. I've been wanting to hit up some pike lately but because I live in Lehi I think the closest pike fishery is Yuba, unless I'm mistaken. Is this correct?

Who knows?!?! As soon as the wifey releases the grip a little I'll see if I can get out. I'm just trying to keep my eyes open during the day. Lil' tyke likes to sleep all day and cry all night. But I'm hoping to get out soon, I'm getting a little stir crazy. You hitting Yuba soon?

Ron buy a park pass its cheaper in the long run if you go enough times. I get my moneys worth with the pass. But this last year i have been out just enough to make it worth buying one. To bad gas is so high it keeps us boaters off the water .Frown I am heading out there this saturday hopefully the wind does not blow hard .The last 4 times i have been to yuba the wind has been horrible so its been more perch fishing than anything else.

oh the cost of gas is not the problem for me.. it's the charge to put the boat in the water and park my truck. in a parking lot that was free for years. then it was a 5.00 charge now it what 9.00 to park and 6.00 to put the boat in? so a 15.00 tax just to fish a place that should have at lest 1 free ramp..

and the bad thing is the only place i would use the park pass is at yuba.. every place else i fish is free.. sure am glad E-lake is privet proprty.. lol or they would be up there screwing it up to! lol

so i'll just get some one else to pay for the boat and parking when ever i go to yuba.. or wait for the iron ranger to ice up! ya get a free pass that way!! lol Sly

What is the chits is to pay to be locked out - get there at 5:00 am and find the gate is locked until 6:00 am - "oh thats only on friday and saturday nights that we lock it" I told the lady I guess next time I'll bring some ply wood to put over the tire cutters - she did not like that. Don't go there on friday or saturday if you want to be fishing at daylight. I found with lake going down fast and warming up the perch have moved a little deeper - we caught limits in 15-20 ft last weekend with some really good ones above 12 inches. We had a rodeo when a 31 inch pike bit a 1/4 oz jig on 6 lb test. We fished for pike for about 3 hrs hard with not a bite and caught him on the first cast for perch - guess we are going to have some steel on for perch fishing now onWink
