i have a question
how do i put this on my line? the place where it looks like you tie it on is just a bend, its not really a closed hole and it looks like the line will just slip out.

You have the right idea, you tie it on right there. It will not slip out, just tie a good knot.

I have found that clips work really well. Makes it easy to switch out baits. I used to tie these on straight to line until I found out about the clips. Now I use clips. The only thing I tie directly to my line now are jigs, flies, and bait hooks. The snaps are known as clips as well. Come in different sizes.

THey stay put real well especially when you get that fish on the end. I haven't tried a snap for this spinner setup but I am sure it would work well

tie it on right at the bend, just use an improved clinch knot, or whatever, NOT a loop knot. Clips work ok until you get into bigger bass spinnerbaits. Then the weight of the head pulls it down.

Use them on large spinner baits all the time with no problems.
