I was down at our local club last night (May 5th), its called Ranger Rod & Gun Club, (LEHIGH VALLEY PA), Its a very large Limestone Quarry Pit. Its mainly a trout lake, but since trout are not my favorite fish, I go for the Largemouth there. Last year, I caught multiple 3-6 pound bass.
Now for my question, I never bass fished it this early in the year, BUT all along the shoreline, (Keep in mind there isnt a spot shallower then 50feet, but there are "shelfs around the perimeter of the lake. Bass are spawning here, and they are hanging out in pairs, and these fish are 6 pounds plus! everyonce in a while they would rub against eachother and float to the top, and these fish were "Cabelas/BPS Aquarium worthy fish.
I threw Gizit Tubes, Netbait Craws, Multiple Jigs, Cranks, Lizards, Minnows, LIVE BLUEGILL (I saw one bass chasing a bluegill), Meal worms, and nightcrawlers.
Although after bouncing a tube in front of the bass he finally gave it a "taste" but spit it out.
Any tips to land these monsters?
