Glad you can make it this year, will be nice to finally meet you. That contest sounds like a fun idea. Are we bringing our own rods to cast or just using your surf rod? I've got a regular pole that casts like crazy, not sure why but it out does all my other stuff by a long ways. Thanks for the idea and see ya there. Jeff
I'll bring my surf casting equipment and we can all see how good we can cast it. From what I read in surf casting books and internet groups, it's all technique which I don't have yet. I don't expect to win, but perhaps if one of us knows how to cast it right, then hopefully I can learn it and become more ready for eventually taking my first surf fishing vacation.
The competition is open to any fishing equipment. But, if someone does know how to surf cast, then that should win. I hear they can cast about 200 yards with it. But, not me, not yet. I'm doing it wrong. It's something to do with timing and acceleration and loading the rod.
Let's go fishing! I prefer to fish with others. I'm well equipped with plenty to share. Let's team up!
be prepared, be very prepared

I'm using my BFT profile as my personal dating website and posting my latest invitations there. Updated: Friday, April 21.
Tonight is movie night! I got the best seats before they sold out, but don't have a date.
That being said, I did develop some degree of proficiency with both spinning and conventional tackle and long rods. I'd be glad to try your gear and see how rusty I have become.
