We have pressure washer however the spigots don't offer a way to hook up a hose unless I guess we get the one of the Willard rangers to hook up one of theirs. I know they can do it when they hose them down. But either way, it'll be on our to-do list from now on one way or another. We too said a brush on bucket would have been nice as well. All of this is now on my notes-to-file for next time for sure.

Once we started packing up we realized we didn't have anyone taking pictures... so that is now on the notes-to-file list too - next year we'll be asking for a couple volunteers to do for us. I'm glad you came, it was great meeting you.

All your points well taken and noted. I totally agree, I've definitely learned (and noted) a thing or two this year, next year will only be better. Thanks for everyone's patience.

About the swallows - so true. But a nasty mess for sure.

Hey just one thing, wanted to give special thanks to Rocky in addition to the others he not only did a ton of help setting up, but also contributed a bunch to prizes and made the location possible. Thanks Rocky. I'll add a post when I get a minute but I'm under the gun right now. Later Jeff

Great job...Jil, Jeff, Jeff and all others who chipped in with goodies and help.

I also cast my vote for the Eagle Beach spot. That is where we held other BFT events before. Just right for a small to medium sized group.

Curse ye not the swallows. Their leavings are just "processed" bugs. Without them cleaning up vast quantities of the skeeters and midges it would be even worse than it is on windless days upon the water.

Rocky already beat me to it but my suggestion for next year's preparations would be to solicit the use of someone's pressure washer...to clean the tables prior to everybody else's arrival.

Also...appoint a designated photographer to roam around and capture those "special moments". Some of want "justice" in our pictures. Others are satisfied with mercy.

I was up a couple of weeks ago and couldn't believe all the swallows out working the bugs. Have never seen that many before.

Anybody catch fish?

I got one Wiper and a Cookie Cat. They were delicious for dinner. So in my estimation after loosing my phone/wallet, a down-rigger and burning up my trilling motor, those two fish were worth about $500 each. You folks are expensive to hang around.

But seriously, it was really great to meet everyone. Thanks for the invite and put me down for the next one.

I've got 99 problems and fishing solves every one of them!

Were you the one being towed by DWR? Them were some expensive fish, how did you manage all that?
No fish for me but I kind of missed all the festivities by fishing too long and by the time I got back all the prizes were gone. Oh well, it was nice meeting some of you guys, really good bunch of people!
When we were loading up our boat the wind really starting picking up so we stayed a bit longer and helped a couple people that were struggling to load up their boats. Thanks to everyone that made this event happen.

Ouch! at least you caught a couple for dinner. Thanks for your donations to the 'cause' as well. I believe it was you that received one of the ice rod prizes, wasn't it?

From the posts, I gather the lunch was the high point of the day with all the activities. Wife and I really wanted to be there. She couldn't get the day off and had to be at work at 1 PM. I was ready to stay for the lunch (and had my camera ready to do photos). But Friday nite I had what I thought was something in my eye. Saturday it just kept getting worse, and in both eyes. The wife said she was pretty sure it was Pink Eye, and it is contagious. So decided to skip the lunch and get to a doctor. Wife was right. Was given some eye drops, then my Dr. at Hill Clinic confirmed again yesterday and told me to take another day off. So..........I did, today. Pirate Fishin'

We missed you. Sorry about the eye. Hope it gets better...better than a black eye.

I was once told that if I thought I might be missed I should make a fist, shove it into a bucket of water and then pull it out. The hole it left would be how much I would be missed.

You did miss out on some good vittles and BSing.

Are you going to be able to make it down to Utah Lake this year. Looking good with the higher water.

Well you did better than most of us, at least you got one pic. Glad you were able to make it John. Where were you fishing at? I was fishing by Ono, on shore, in the SE corner of the marina.

For next year - I kind of liked where we ended up better, it's closer to the water and has nicer view, less freeway noise too. But I think the parking is not as nice for those with boat trailers.

On the way in at the guard shack, I asked the lady if I could have my dog there. She said yes as long as he was on a leash. That is the only pavilion dogs are allowed.

So I vote for that pavilion next year also.

Hey Forest,
Sorry I missed you at the Flotilla, thought I seen you on the pond, but that's a hard spot to visit when you're trying to find some fish and they don't want to bite... Well, we'll see ya on another visit to the bay... Thanks for showing anyway even if you didn't get to join in with the good vittles... Later J

Jeff,
The wife and I had really been looking forward to last Saturday. She wanted to meet more of the crowd that has been keeping me out on the water so much the past year. But her job, my pink eye, and a lot of nasty bugs, wind, and a whole family of skunks that have taken up living in my boat so far this year, and we decided to call it a day a bit early. The majority vote for changing to Eagle Beach next year sounds like a good idea to. We will plan to be there. And maybe this time just a bit more warning so she can schedule that day off? Sly

Thanks Pat. Eye is better. And I've heard that "hole in the water" comparison for many years also. But was mostly in reference to how irreplaceable someone may be in a military unit. But no matter the circumstance, it's pretty true in most things.

Yes, I do want to get in at least one trip down to your local "pond" (UL) Laugh seein as you have graced us northerners with you presence up at Willard a few times already this year. If I can just get work, health, and the weather to all cooperate at the same time...........Unsure

Wife likes UL. She has caught her biggest fish there.

Forest it seems like that first weekend in May is a pretty good time to do this thing. We'll try and get it on the calendar earlier next year. I about missed it this year. The weather and all didn't seem like we would find a good day, but it ended up ok. I'll bet the skunks will depart soon. Good luck. J

Yes we missed you, it was a good visit time but the fishing wasn't the best. Hope next time we'll pick a better time for you to make it. Always fun to learn from the rest of the BFT crew. We had a lot of new folks join the flotilla, not new to BFT, but new to the event and it was good to meet them. I'd talked with Old Coot for years but this was the first time I met him. So I hope you can join us next time. Later Jeff

After Christmas Smith's puts all there gift wrap on sale for a $1.00 a roll, it makes great table clothes (white side up or santa and his deer if you like color)
A roll of duct tape and you have clean tables and fast cleanup.
One roll can cover 2 or 3 tables.
Sounds like it was a good time good fun.
For sure going to try to do it next year.
