22 inch Tiger Trout near the Ladders
I went fishing up near the Ladders at Strawberry this afternoon and caught a 23 inch Tiger Trout. I've fished the Berry close to 100 times over the years and have never heard of Tiger Trout existing in Strawberry.

Anyone know where this may have come from and if there are more?

Nice Tiger! There have been a few recent reports of Tigers being caught in Strawberry. I suspect they were wall jumpers in the hatchery and were stocked with a batch of rainbows or cutthroat.

I believe this Tiger escaped Currant Creek and came down the Strawberry Aqueduct into the reservoir via the ladders.

Yeah the water that comes out of the ladders is from Current Creek Reservoir.

It must have decided to go south for the winter.

Kingfisher, I see that you are a true fisherman.
Your fish grew one inch from the time you started your post until you were even half way through your post!
P.S. I wish all the Cutts in the Berry were replaced by Tigers.....
Same results for chub control, waaayyyy better fight.
Unfortunately, too expensive to keep up stocking program.

Haha, good "catch". Pun intended. It was 22; not 23. But what's the fun in being accurate as a fishermen.

Nice fish! Any 22 inch trout that heavy is justly described as a 23 inch trout

Great catch and beautiful fish! Between tributaries, fish stocking programs, and unfortunately sometimes even bucket biologists, you never know anymore what you might catch. I was ice fishing next to a guy a number of year ago on the Strawberry side of the lake and watched him catch a 4-5 lb brown. It was a beautiful fish in full spawning colors.

What you have there is an immigrant to Strawberry. It made it's way past the dam and all the way down stream. I caught a Kokanee salmon in Willard Bay a couple years back. It must have made it's way down stream from one on the lakes it was stocked in.
