If you are using a photo storage site like imgur or flickr, they will automatically include the image open and image close codes. I can't type those codes here or the board will think I'm posting a picture. But they are bracket img bracket at the start and then bracket /img bracket at the end. Brackets are [ and ]

Where did the shore anglers fish? Looks like the river maybe?

The DAV event was great to participate in.

I wish the fishing day were better but we did land 9 Cutts jigging. Spent the first 2.5hrs trying for Kokes but couldn't find them. Didn't see much happening amount the fleet either.

I was pinging lots of them so not sure if our presentation was wrong or if we were fighting general lock-jaw.

Our vet was from the same little Utah town as my mom so we had an instant connection.

Great fun up there! Hopefully one day I can participate again.

Was glad to be able to participate in this event finally. Todd and Trevor and all the unnamed folks, and all the boat operators that worked the event, you are to be thanked and highly commended. I missed getting to eat lunch, but from several partial conversations I heard on the ramp, and when the buses were loading, all the Vets that attended were quite impressed with how well so many boat owners that mostly only communicate on the BFT site, and many have actually never met face to face, were able to come together and make the day happen.

A thought just occurred to me, you and the other BFT members that took pics of their Vet fishing should submit those pics to the KSL Outdoors Show, Picture of the week contest. Since at least some of his show on July 29th will be about the the DAV event, sending in your pics might be a great way to show others the importance of helping out next year at the DAV event and get more people to help.

Good ideal. I didn't take any while out on the boat, but surely others will read you comment and offer their pictures also.

I did a short interview with him on the ramp and told about the BFT group and how they wanted to help the Vets.. maybe that will show up on his show.

BFT members were the ones that originally started that DAV event and I'm sure Adam know that. I think after the second or third year the NOC took over and Todd started running it with Trevor's(Wipermac) help on this site. Bassrods was the member that first put up the idea of doing one and with the help of a lot of us, it turned out Ok the first few years but when Todd took it over, with the NOC, it really took off and I'm sure you saw how well it is run now.
BFT was also the group that started the first and second Burbot Bash at the Gorge.

Thank you for coming and supporting our event buddy. That's exactly the kind of experience we're trying to provide. This isn't a tournament or competition. These guys and gals just want to get out on the water for some comrade and relaxation. Catching a few fish is a nice bonus for them and they don't care what they are.

Glad you enjoyed the experience.

I got my vet's permission to use the photo I posted above, and submitted it to KSL Outdoors. If you decide to post any photos, be sure to get permission from anyone shown.

Got my vets permission to take the photos, and post to BFT. So won't go any further than that.

Todd, I understand you are out of town for a few days, and Trevor will be also.

I was trying to get my vets email info to send him the photos I took. Already gave Trevor my contact info to give to VA to give to him in order to get around all the privacy act stuff.

Have fun on the water, be safe, catch lots of eyes.

Hey buddy, thanks for participating. Re; getting contact info back and forth. The VA folks have asked that we not make those requests of them. It's perfectly fine to get contact info from the person directly when at the event but the staff cannot be involved in any facilitation of that outside the event. There are the federal laws you mentioned as well as other reasons that the staff has regrading this policy.

Once again I really appreciate you volunteering your time to come up and help us get the veterans out fishing.

Thank you for your support and looking forward to seeing you next year.

Some shore anglers fished along the bank on the west side of Soldier Creek Bay and a couple went to the river below the dam. Based on RonPaulFan's pictures of the Brown's it looks like we had a 4 species day for the vets. Pretty cool place where you can catch everything from world class kokanee, big cuts, fat rainbows, and some nice browns all within the same general area!
