Lincoln Beach
Very slow at Lincoln today. Weather was nice and water temp hit 50-51. Tried all the old favorite spots and couldn't scare up a bite. Finally went out a half mile from the "L" and drifted in the slight wind. One bite, one fish, 27 inches long and 7 lbs. 10 oz. Fat, sleek, and feisty.

Next week for sure.

That is a good looking fish! I'm glad you found one anyway. It's just beginning and there is lots of fun ahead!

 "Fat, sleek, and feisty."

You...or the fish?

Good on ya. A nice "starter" fish. May there be many bigger ones in the months ahead.

Glad to see you got the skunk off of ya. Did you try for any those eyes while you was out there. I was thinking i should have been sick.

I pretty much knew that comment would be coming from you Pat. Trouble is I don't have much to refute it.. except maybe the "sleek and feisty" part.

I agree with you that yesterday was a really nice day to be out on the big pond... probably the last one for a week or so. I'll keep you posted on the Lincoln bite and when the water temps approach 60 degrees we can get serious about catching those 30+ inchers.

Please know that even though I find you to be annoying, arrogant, and careless with the truth i am still looking forward to our first hook up. How does that saying go now?... something like birds of a feather... or like minded souls... something like that.

Soon.

MSM-- Weather was perfect for wally fishing... overcast with a ripple on the water but I had a nephew with me so we pretty muck stuck to cattin'. You missed a good day to be "sick". I'll bet you would have knocked 'em dead at the island. Saw the usual crowd over by the orchard but no reports of catchin'.

One more week...

I know a couple. One is "Birds of a feather sit on the line...and decorate your car together."

The other is "A bird in the hand makes blowing the nose difficult."

But I do recognize in you a kindred spirit. We are both old fudds with attitudes...who both like to talk smack. We also both enjoy fishing...and especially fishing for those whiskery things.

Don't wanna get all sentimental...maybe just mental...but I'm glad we decided to share some water once in a while. Our trips are always fun and so far we have always done well together. Some catches better than others, but all good.

Very succinct summary. Smack is always fun as long as it stings but does not cut; poking sport at each other is fun as long as the poke is barbless. Some folks take themselves way to seriously and offend easily. I never get offended by much... someone catching a 30 inch cat out of my boat and my hole comes close but...Anyhow, I can get along with even the most difficult person, to wit: I fish with you.

Let's do it.
