some water temp. at strawberry today
I was all over the Reservoir started at the Meadows ended the day at 2 PM by Mud creek bay
was in water 40 feet deep to 75 feet deep
it was my day to scout.

at 8 am down 44 feet down, temp was 56.7
other times
and places 50 feet down temp was 53 deg.
65 feet down temp was 50.6
41 feet down 60.5
33 feet down temp was 60.7
60 feet down 52.3
44 feet 56.7

at 12:44 top water was 61.3 deg.

I had my downriggers between 40 and 17 feet all of the cuts I got at 40' were over 20" the ones at 27 to 17 feet were not to big.

this red fish I got was in the meadows in 45' of water down 40 feet.
I thought they were told not to bite after sept. 10th

they had the check station opened outside of heber first time I have seen it open
it was 6:30 am

It's too bad you could not keep that koke Robert, it would have made a very pretty fish mount.

It's so interesting to see the transformation if the salmon during the spawning period. The way their bodies turn so red but the big thing is the changing shape of their heads.

Thanks for the water temp info.

That tells me that the big ones are still waiting for the surface temps to get down to around 50°.

Thanks for sharing. You always have interesting info Robert.

That check station was open labor day weekend. Looks like the surface temp. hasn't changed much, it was 60-61 early Sept.

Can anyone tell me if you still have to pay to launch at Strawberry Bay marina or has that stopped for the season?

Thank you!

I think in years past, they collect their fees until either (1) the water is drained from the campground (marina bathrooms/fish cleaning station) or (2) they pull their docks. Which ever happens first. I think this happens around the 3rd or 4th week of October.
