Joes Valley - Good news for boaters
I fished JV today from my tube. A contractor is in the process of extending the boat ramp. The water level is at 49% full and the existing ramp has been out of the water for some time.
I launched across from the Sportsman's Lodge at 10:00 and fished until 3:00 picking up a few of the recently stocked rainbows, a small splake, and one cutthroat. I used both medium and fast sinking lines with size 6-8 bead head leeches and crystal buggers. I did have a few other fish on but only one good sized one. The fish all came from water between 8' - 20' deep and many were within casting distance from shore.
The water temperature was 38-40 degrees and the visibility in the water of about 7'. There is a little ice starting to form along the face of the dam and in the northeast bay where I launched.
There were a few shore anglers and one other tuber while I was there.
The weather couldn't have been better for a day in December, 20's and no wind.
