So how did the storm treat you, bet you have snow in your backyard now but is that pond freezing ?

Snow was not as forecast. Only had 4" or less, but the freezing rain was a problem for the roads. Amazing the how much rain lay on top of the snow and then turned to ice as the temperature dropped to 20 degrees. Still have ice coating all of the trees:

This was the picture only a few weeks ago:

Today got up to 11 degrees and who knows what the windchill was with the 20 mph wind. Tonight will also go down to 1 degree but supposedly Wed. will be near 40.

The weather has got to moderate because last year was nuts with a hurricane in my area and a record rainfall.

Great information. I've seen similar stuff like this before, and it works.

From the reports I figured you were going to get hammered with snow, did you get enough cold temps to ice fish on your pond?

Been too cold for this old geezer to be out! I'm talking a daily windchill during the day of 10 degrees! I'm sure there is enough ice thickness, but I'm in no hurry until early March.

Guess what though :
Tomorrow's forecast is for temp to rise to near 50 with 1-2" of rain and a risk of local flooding!!! Here we go again with nutzo weather!

Good thing I can make lures in my warm basement workshop.

The warm rain and fog melted a majority of the snow. Back to mid 30's today with up and down temps this coming week. Feb. 1st next Friday. Getting closer!

How is your weather doing there now, are you still getting snow or freezing temps? We got an early Spring snow storm yesterday, it laid down 4" but it pretty much is melted today.

70 degrees today and partly sunny! Hooray!!!! Will definitely get out on the water next week after a cold Monday (47 degrees) and Monday night (25 degrees). Today I added barley straw in mesh bags to the pond to clarify the water. Man does it work!
Surface water temperature rose to 58 degrees from the low 40's last week but still no bites in the pond. (Wonder if some animal ate them.)

Took all the lures I designed/ modified in winter and put them small storage boxes to try next week. Perch (white and yellow) have already spawned but crappie are going into pre-spawn in water less than 5'. Sunfish are coming in to eat everyone's eggs before their spawn next month but before the bass spawn.

More photo results to be posted.
