ode to a good old fish sniffin god
 I was gonna do an intro thread today but the gods as we call em are better subjects imho
kessler was a good old dog

that lived a good dogs life of good dog things

he was named after our happy place a place that has brought many good times yet has taken the lives of friends and people i admired

he stoically dealt with his physical limitations until the end and rocked the $4k bionic hip to its full potential

he dug fishing and more so the catching and sniffing

he served 9 years promoting the human animal bond as a therapy dog through inter mountain therapy animals and some political action services

he had character and a lot of dog and people friends

luvs ya unconditionally even through the busted rods oc misbehaviors and rolling in dead stuffs and midnight back yard needs

Quote:
When I got my new Dog
I asked for strength that I might rear him/her perfectly;
I was given weakness that I might feed him/her more treats.
I asked for good health that I might rest easy;
I was given a "special needs" dog that I might know nurturing.
I asked for an obedient dog that I might feel proud;
I was given stubborness that I might feel humble.
I asked for compliance that i might feel masterful;
I was given a clown that I might laugh.
I asked for a companion that I might not feel lonely;
I was given a best friend that I would feel loved.
I got nothing I asked for,
But everything that I needed

well bud well miss the crap outta ya

gots a new fur kid hes 2 1/2 now and figuring it outs
i aint callin him a replacement cause no dog ever replaces another
just a new chance to share some unconditional love and new sets of deeds adventures and memories
dog bless
the best

Enjoyed the pictures, the shared memories and the poem.

A nice farewell. All of us who have lost furry members of our family share your touching sentiments.

Dogs are good people.

i put the 2 planks on my feet and climbed up and skied for the 1st of the season
and drove by the peak on the way up the 210/bcc to brighton with the better 1/2
and smiled as i always do
She wouldnt let me do the cremation ashes thing and he woulda wanted all them in the home of his fishes
i did git a ceramic paw print cast and last winter put it atop the kessler peak

its a good 3000 ft of vert from the blind miners cave at the bottom up the argenta avalanche slide path longer from the cardiff fork gods lawn mower side
or even longer west from mineral fork
atop it affords some specatular views

and this would be my prefered route of descent off the east face into cardiff
as seen from the days fork/ reed and benson ridgeline

that particular newf woulds a made seaman, captain meriweather lewis fur child,
woof in approval of a life lived with a passion for the waters
