Free samples
CoolLast week I sent away to the Assalt Company for their free offer of bass lures. Wow, were they ever quick in responding. Today I received 5 sample lures. Had to send them a self addressed envelope with .60 postage. The post office didn't even cancel out my stamp. Came out ahead on both ends. Has anyone had a chance to give these lures a workout?

Free samples! - Don't take our word for it - try them yourself. Send a self-addressed stamped ($.60 stamp) envelope to:

Just got mine in the mail yesterday and will will be heading up to Vermont, this friday. Water temp may be too cold, but will give them and the free gulp worms a good run.I'll report on them when I get back on wed.

They work great for bass. They work just as good as the senko if not better. Just t-rig them like the senko. I think they even have better action because of the fat head and the skinny tail. They also work for dropshotting.

I was just wondering, what kind of lures did you receive?

They look similar to the Gulp worms.

Hi there Dryrod,

Thanks for the heads up. I've just made my request. That company started out marketing plastic worms that were so very hot and them branched out into other soft fake creatures. I believe they were one of the first to use salt in their plastics but I may be confused (as usual). Seems like salt and assault somehow had a relationship.

They've got a good reputation so I'll look forward to trying they too.

Again Thanks,

JapanRon

Worked for me In reply to
CoolThis morning the overcast made the fishing conditions ideal for me. Unfortunately by the time I got out to Irvine Lake the wind started raking the water pretty good. I decided to get out there and do my tubing stuff anyway. Hunted around until my FF found some activity. The wind had blown me about a couple of hundred yards from where I launched my tube.Tried my luck at getting some trout in 30' - 35' of water but no luck. Working back against the wind I was nearing my launch site. Then I decided I would give the sample Assalt lures a try drop shotting. [never tried DS before] Hey that stuff really works. Within a few minutes caught a nice 14" SMB oops change that to LMB. By the way I have yet to catch one fish using the Gulp bait.

Hey Dryrod, How did they get smallies in Irvine??? I though the altitude wasn't good enough for them. That would be interesting to see though.

Dropshottin is one of my most common rigs for LMB and smallies when I go up to Bishop. They really did on the action of a plastic worm when it is on the Drop Shot.

BlushHey there TubeN2,

I goofed it was a LMB. I believe the strain stocked there is a cross between the Florida and Yankee bass. ie: "Northern" They are strickly catch and release at the lake.

wheeew! You had me concerned there. I haven't been able to find smallies closer than Pyramid and that's supposed to stay closed until 4th of July. I love catching those thing. They fight almost as good as an Opaleye.

Hooray for the smallie. Another bass lives!!

As far as the chicken livers go, they are a good ticket out here for cats as well. One of the hottest tickets though is shrimp and mackerel. The cats love them.

Back here in PA the smallmouths are hitting everything, including soft baits. They are chasing Alewives at night and some that we have been catching have been really nice, 4-5 pounds. In the past few weeks my friend and I have caught and released well over 25 smallies all caught at night.Cool

This is not artificial bait that I'm talking about. I'm talking about real shrimp and real pieces of Mackerel. But it is something that they will Gulp down when they smell it.

When I was a younger lad in Utah, I used to use Velveeta cheese balls. They would murk up the water and carry it down streem. The Cats would go nuts over that too.

I have to go a few hours north of me to get to where the smallies are. I could catch them on plastics, spinners and live crawdads. It sure surprised me when I started catching them at night too. I thought they would have been sleeping by then.
