I spent two hours trying to get a picture attached and gave up. (Just got a new computer and haven't figured out how to down size pictures with the new solfware.) Now that you have closed it, I guess it was for the best because I'm not sure if a steal leader would work on wipers this time of the year. Good luck on your move, you will find that wipers are a blast to catch. WH2

Try this:
Open the picture in Paint.
Go to Image, then Stretch/Skew.
In the Stretch boxes, replace "100" with "50".
Close/save.
Open Windows Explorer, find the picture and check the size - it should be less than the 250K size limit. If not, repeat the above process.
Excuse my ignorance, but what's a wiper?

Tell ya what I will do, since there was no other intrest I will extend the same offer to you as well and no further.

you give me a pic and I will send you two similar lures with Gamakatsu 3/0 blood red Octopus hooks. I can make them any lenth with or with out beeds and blades if you want to use it for ice fishing....

programs that will work is
  • microsoft office photo editor
  • Kodak Imaging
  • bitmap imaging
  • paint shop

on some of these you will have to drop the image menu form the top and select resize and others the same as the way snook_hooker said.

there are others, but you can do what we men hate to do and that is to ask help from the computer, (go ahead, no one is looking)Sly

on the program you have the photo open click on the help menue and ask how to resize photo.

when you have the picture open you can right click on the photo and select save as or use the drop down menu under file. this will let you konw what formats you have available to you. You might have to down load a photo editor if your new system dosnt have one. (most all of them have one kind or another now days)

Kewl, Are you an avid wiper angler?

and dose this leader look like something that would produce wipers for you?

Putting the picture in Paint worked. This is a 32 inch Lake trout, that is at least 6lbs, could be 7 lbs. Thanks for giving me another chance. As far as using it for wipers, I'll try it but I think it will work for trout better. In the spring wipers will chase bait but most of the year lures are trick. It also looks like it would work for walleye. I'm not sure what to say about the length, beads or blades but the one in your picture looks good. If its ok how about the second one being 18 inches, a combo of green/red beads and a hammered silver blade. I also have a picture of a 27 inch wiper that is 7 lbs but I'm not sure where it is at the moment. Do you want me to post that one when I find it? I'll send you my address in a PM.

I have a sewed on BFT patch on that hat but I guess I did not turn it around all the way before that picture was taken. Thanks for the idea on using paint to down size the picture, it worked great. Dave is right about the wiper and what it is a cross of. They have them in Nebraska, Colorado, Nevada and Utah, I'm sure there are many more states but those are the ones that I know of. Here is a picture of a 27 lb Colorado state record that was caught a year ago or so. WH2
