     Truth in Posting?
So there is a post (although not on this board) on the Utah board that is titled "another Gorge weekend" by halojim. In the post he tells how they caught so many fish using RMT this and RMT that, but in the pics that he shows with all the different poses, different people, how come the FISH (Kokanee) is the same exact fish. Same scratch on the Gill plate, red tail spots, bobble nose, dorsal scar.
If these people lie about catching all these fish with the secret RMT lures and use only one fish to fake all these photos, am I supposed to run out and buy RMT stuff?
Is that really what all you fisher people are about. I mean I know the saying, "I fish therefore I lie", but isn't this all about selling a brand tackle using deception as the bait?

Why don't you post this over on the Utah board and get the answer straight from the guy whose veracity you're questioning?

Well, I can tell by your statements that you neither know these guys or have ever fished with them. I have fished with some of them and you can believe that they can put fish in the boat. It is not uncommon to go out any day and pull in 15 to 40 fish. They do know their stuff.

Though these guys own and represent a certain tackle company, their lures have be developed from years of experience fishing Kokanee so you can bet their stuff works. Heck, look at some of the posts who aren't representatives of their tackle company and they too are singing the praise of their tackle.

If you have ever been around these guys, you'd be the first to know that they do not exclusively use their own stuff. They use what is working at the time. I personally have been there when an Apex was out fishing their stuff and guess what we used. Yup, the Apex and they'll post it too on that rare occasion when their own stuff isn't producing as well.

Also what you don't realize that these guys will be the first to help you get on the fish. They take a personal interest in your success at catching kokanee. I was at the dock last weekend, and Jared, who we ran into at the top of the ramp, came over and help me clean my fish. He didn't have to but he wanted to talk fishing and jumped right in to help. Yes, These guys are business men but they are decent guys too.

This year is a banner year for kokanee on the Gorge. Not just numbers but BIG kokanee. I fished kokes last weekend and the smallest fish were not under 3 lbs with the biggest going right at 5 lbs. I did not use RMT tackle because we were jigging but, man, what great fish we caught!

Believe what you must but don't pass judgement until you know the facts and the truth. You may find out exactly the opposite of what you originally thought. JMO...

Well, first of all... accusations coming from "guests" are never taken too seriously. Sign up, log in, and let us know where these claims are coming from. It looks like a post from a person who is actively pushing a competing brand. I wont mention any brand names, or user names, but I'll probably send a PM. Remember, the mods always know! This kind of critisism is lame. Its one thing to critisize, but only to try and make a competitor look bad? Grow up.

These guys that you're questioning are top quality people. I've seen first hand how hard they try to share their knowledge about koke fishing. They also make some great products that catch a lot of kokanee. I've fished their tackle side by side with some of the best gear in the business... Rocky Mt Tackle has not disappointed me one bit. I've also seen these guys at the cleaning station enough over the last few years to know, they catch a lot of BIG kokanee!

There is room on the BFT boards for all brands, reports, and pics. Please refrain from biased crtitisisms and stick to your own fishing reports. For the most part, the different kokanee groups on BFT have gotten along just fine. Lets keep it that way. I would hate to see these kinds of unfounded critiques push some of our best BFT'ers away. Its happened too much in the past!

We've got a great group of koke fisherman on BFT (no matter their tackle persuasions). Thanks to all of those who have made talking kokanee fun on BFT!

Well said by both of you. I dont care if it's the same fish in every picture they have ever posted. The tackle they sell will put fish on your boat, period You wiil NOT find one supporter of your claims on this or any other board. Please go away.

I echo what has been said, dont bring that stuff on this board. Jared and family are top notch people. There is no secret about the RMT lures, they work and Jared is very helpful in giving lots of tips and advice. Dont need to give this so called "guest" any more attention. Russ

As many have come out and defended Rob(halojim) and Myself I want to step back and look at the "ignorance"..... I have always as many of you know been very free of my information and knowledge pertaining to the Kokanee in general and I think it is crystal clear that the "guest" has not a clue what we are about.
My Rep's and friends alike are considered FAMILY and when you put your foot in your mouth it makes it hard for a person like me to just stand by and let it go .....Say what you want about me...I am a big boy and can handle it but do not speak of someone with the ethics and character of Rob Chambers. I will NOT lose any sleep over this clown as many of you have said the products we make and represent DO catch fish or they would not be in my product line....and I do thank those of you for your posts of confidence and we will continue to strive to be the best in our industry.... Our mutual love for Kokanee fishing is where we should concentrate our focus and help put others on fish so they too can enjoy... enough said..... and thank you to the four moderators for your willingness to come forth

Guest, As you can see most people on this board don't put up with this kind of nonsense. As has been said before by many others who aren't affiliated with Rocky Mtn. the stuff works. Besides, who cares if it is the same fish. It' a great fish. Being a Rep for RMT I can assure you that the most important thing for us is helping people to become better kokanee fishermen, not just selling tackle. For you to judge someone of Rob's character without knowing him or at least putting your name to it, is a bunch of Horses**t.

I think the poster and everyone else can see the support RMT and the folks behind it get here. You don't get this much support from people because you lie, deceive, or cheat people as the "guest" poster tries to allude. No way.

I see nothing wrong with asking a simple question, "Why is the same fish used in all the pictures you posted?". That's a legit question and an explanation would of been provided BUT to post on another board, as a "guest", and accuse people of lying and deceiving people just to sell product is malicious when that simple question could of been asked.

You got to admit though that the fish used in the pics does make for great promo shots. Those pictures are great! Who could resist the temptation to go koke fishing after seeing such a great looking kokanee? I'd have those pics in a magazine or online add!

The "guest" may think he's "anonymous" but IP addresses don't lie. This board monitors IP addresses and every time someone posts, it's recorded for the moderators and administrators to see. If you've posted here before your IP address is easily found and compared with any other posts from that IP. Like I said, being a "guest" really doesn't hide your identity.

Well I hope our "Guest" has learned a valuable lesson. I was going to save him some humiliation and delete this thread last night, but then Jared replied and defended himself, friends, and his company in a classy matter, so I left it for all to read.

For the record, this kind of garbage is not welcome on our board. There may be alot of support for Jared and RMT on our board, but if the roles were reversed and it would have been someone that represented his company doing the same stuff to someone from the company our guest represents, I GUARANTEE the replys would have been the same. There is plenty of room for everyone no matter what afiliation they may have. Just remember its about the fish and the memories that are made while in pursuit of the fish.

Later All,

First of all, I want to thank everyone for the support they are showing here. When Don informed me of the post on this board, I responded to him in a PM stating the curcumstances of the pictures and assured him we were not hiding anything or trying to defraud anyone. What we were showing were different views of a quality fish. And by the way not all the pictures on that post were of the same fish. Obviously 3 were, but I thought everyone could see that anyway. As I told Don the one thing I wanted to avoid was the back and forth aurguing on this board that has plagued us in the past, hense no reply from me to the guest. I did post a reponse on the Utah board with an explanation. Everyone who knows me, knows I'm the first to come forward with help and information about fishing the gorge for kokes. In the future I'll try to be more informative about the pics I post. Once again myself and the RMT family thanks everyone for the support in this issue.

You have pretty much been beat up by the other good people on this forum but i need a hit for myself!
I met Jarred at the sportsmans expo 2 years ago and from the start i enjoyed his company. I have not purchased any of their products yet but that is only because i do not fish the gorge for kokes and i seldom fish for them with anything other than my standard trout setups around here. Having said that, i have been here long enough to see the help these great guys have offered to everyone who has asked. I have seen the reports from last year and the ones from this year and there ain't no way the fish in this pic is from last year. They know their stuff and you have no right to even comment on this board. I am going to Swim Beach friday, saturday, and sunday, and you bet your ass i will have a tackle box full of their stuff to use. Good luck buddy, you are in the wrong place to be bashing one of our boys!Wink
Keep up the good work Jarred and the whole bunch.Smile

To all of those that stepped up to defend our friends here, thanks. But, I think it is time to move on. I'm locking this thread and look forward to moving on and getting back to positive reports, pics, and discussions. This experience has changed things somewhat. From now on "guests" won't be able to post on the WY board. We're changing this so that we can keep things open and upfront. Hopefully this change will help us avoid these kinds of things in the future. At the very least I believe it will cause us all to consider more carefully what we post on the board.

Thanks guys!
