I'm in Texas and fish freshwater. I've been saltwater fishing a couple of times though. It was a lot of fun! I wish I could do it more often. Guess that goes for all fishing though.

Wow that is cool. Texas is a nice place to fish. I like the Saltwater action over there too. There are lots of Reds, Black Drum and Hammer Heads to play with.Cool

I live in Maryland:

I got out as soon as it's physically possible to get a lure in the water. I get Nasty Cabin Fever. Dosn't matter if their biting or not. I can always work on casting and presentation with the slight hope that i'll get lucky and nail something.

Hey there JTingley, and welcome to BFT! Thanks for your post!

I think you'll find there are alot of anglers on this site from that neck of the woods, or atleast close by. I also get cabin fever, but the cold is enough to make me thing twice before putting my boat in the water. What do you normally catch up your way?

Largemouth and Striped Bass is mostly what I go for. When I goto the River near my house (Magothy River) I nail aloota Striper and Pickeral/Pike. For LM Bass I've found a few nice little spots I frequent. Every summer i take a trip to WV and there is this little 2 acre pond on a ranch I get to fish on with some of the best smallmouth action I've ever seen. Breathtaking scenery out there too.

Hopefully I can get the boat in the Bay this year and go for the big stripers. From the shore in the river I usually catch em between 20-30 inches. I'd love to see em bigger.

Just got back from Clearwater, Florida caught alot of reds in the 28'' to 32'' range. Also caught the Jacks for the first time, really a fast fish. reminds me of Wahoo's for speed. caught one red with 11 spots. Do you know why some have more spots than others. Can't wait to get fishing in Utah, as soon as it warms a little more.

Originally the spot that is on the tail is used to throw off "Would be" Predators. It would confuse them as they couldn't really tell if the fish was coming or going.

Extra spot developed kind of like Freckle in humans. Some have them and some don't.

A Redfish or Red Drum are not uncommon to have more than 1 spot. No spots at all are extremely rare.Cool

We never stop fishing fresh water in michigan...

there is a time and season for every thing, so when one thing quits bite-ing another starts, when we do get a slow time we have to run to the toy shop to gear up for the next run or set of runs...

No Left Turn

Every time I see that sign, it is time to go fishing, the catching may not be so good but at least it takes a bit of the stress of a congested and over developed neighborhood...
