Re: [macfly55] Lake Elsinore
I like them fine. They also can be worn wading or to wear while setting up one's tube. If you have stocking feet waders like I do it protects them from abuse of walking on gravel, stones or whatever.

Re: [macfly55] Lake Elsinore
Hey Mac... The rashing is not over the booties, it is over the little bells that you are planning to attatch. The bells might scare the fish. Instead, you should attach a few little rattles. Those attract the fish.
Haven't you aver heard of the Bass Lure Co. called Rattletrap??
Bass are toys. Gills and Trout are food.

...it was just an expression from the an old movie and then the spin off movie from that.. but you do have a point.. bells would scare them away... Ill have to see if I can find a few loose rattle lures at wally world.. see if that might help my fishing...

Re: [macfly55] Lake Elsinore
That is fine. If you feel like experimenting with some new styles of fishing, I have some rattle inserts that I use for the plastics that I fish with for Bass. I will get you set up if you bring your spinning rod.

Re: [tubeN2] Lake Elsinore
..lol.. you gonna put rattle inserts on my new boots for me????
...seriously.. I like the idea of the small lead beads in the bubble.. I can see the added weight and the rattle would help with the cast and maybe attracting fish..
... Ill be bringing my spinning rig for the bubble fly rig and then I may throw my fly rod and reel in the truck for grins in the off chance that I can get a few pointers from more experienced anglers than I ...
... that is of course assuming that I dont drown trying to learn how to float around in a tube.. casting flies with very sharp points around that same tube that is filled with the air that is keeping my fat behind afloat...

Re: [macfly55] Lake Elsinore
Those little symbols are just indicators as to how far to throw your fly and how far to keep the pointy end of it from your tube.
If you don't understand the first 2 symbols, the last one just indicates how to wring the water out of your vest and waders just in case you get introduced to a pointy object.
Bass are toys. Gills and Trout are food.

Re: [tubeN2] Lake Elsinore
what a smart arse..
... and I thought the signal flags on a ship were hard to decipher..
.... Im guessing that a few small holes from a fly wont sink me???
...went to sport chalet today to buy the booties in question.. spent 20 minutes watching salespeople ignore me and waiting to see if one of them wanted to take my money.. they didnt.. so as I left I asked a cashier if they worked on commission in that store.. she said no.. so I said "thats good for your salespeople because they just lost a sale"... she just stood there with a dumb look on her face.. so I just left.. Im guessing sports authority will now end up with my business...

Re: [tubeN2] Lake Elsinore
Okay I finally found a good map of the Lake area.
Guess that we will rendezvous at LS1 which is at 500 Lakeshore Dr.

Re: [Dryrod] Lake Elsinore
Slow down there you tubing Cowboy.
LS1 is a no launch zone for tubes. They have no idea what a Float Tube is.
LS5 on the north/west end is the spot that Macfly and I met last time. That spot knows what tubes are. Besides, the Bass are over there right after sunrise just until Mac gets there.
32700 Riverside Drive.
Punch that into your GPS for a direct route from where you live.

My Bad! Yes it will be at RS5. The launch fee is 5 bucks and I have everyone covered.
It looks like we may pick up one more member with us as well. Scruffy fly lives down in the area of Macfly55. They might be carpooling. My son will be joining us as well. He is TubeNtoo.

From the Main St exit, Main accesses Graham. Graham turns into Lake Shore Dr. Lake Shore will allow access to Riverside.

Re: [macfly55] Lake Elsinore
I would like to prefer the 7:00 entry. Then we will have some set up time before we hit the prime bite hour.
If anyone else is planning on going, please check in here. I am hosting the parking fees since the launch is free.

Re: [tubeN2] Lake Elsinore
Looks like it will be nice and cool Saturday morning. The wind is expected to come up around noon at about 11 mph. Where is Elm Grove Beach located? Just heard on the news tonight that the bacteria count is up in that area. Fecal matter is suspected as causing the problem. Someone might have been tubing with a hole in their waders. LOL
