Nice to hear about the corresponding lengths along with the weights. I'm always curious because I like to measure and weigh my giant bass so i can write the data down on my photos. Plus yes, i'll admit, I'm obessed with lmb. I try to worship them every sunday . My girthest bass came out of kaysville ponds.......no secret anymore since they drained, dredged and destroyed it. Bass at 16 1/2 inches were up to 2lbs 15 oz. 18 inches 4 1/2 lbs. The biggest bass i ever caught I can't disclose the location.... cause so far so good......I have seen no other people bass fishing it ever. So still top secret.....it's somewhere in Utah county that's all I can say. But nowhere obvious. This fish was 21 1/4.........6lbs 1oz. I'm still looking for bigger gals......7-10 range. Yes, I think fat gals are hott. Well basswise anyways. You are absolutely right.....the heaviest and girthiest time is early in the spawn. After the 2nd or 3rd bedding attempt the females get chewed and nipped and stressed......they lose weight dramatically. Those male bass are horrendous and vicious spouse abusers. WOW an 25 inch bass.....awesome.

I dont know why we have to baby and pamper bassrods on this issue. True it is obvious he caught an honorable fish, but with out proof it is nothing more than that, an honorable fish. He is the one that has to push the issue and has to pump out his chest that his fish makes him better than everyone else. I have seen a lot of pictures of fish (from jordanelle) as big as the one he caught. I give them the same credit as I give bassrods. NICE FISH.I dont care for records myself. I personally do not need a certified piece of paper from the state saying I caught a nice fish. If he would give up on this whole record deal and live with the fact he caught a nice fish (record or not), BFT and the world would be a better place. Then again the majority of bass fisherman need that recognition to validate their lives. what a joke.

I don't worry I just go fishing... and they go to work...

 You have the most fun! Once again you have to out prove, and guess what you win. Maybe, and just maybe if you sat back and listened once in a while instead of trying to out prove and try showing everyone why you are better, you wouldnt have so many people tearing your thoughts and posts apart.

Several years ago I caught a 21", just under 7 lb. wiper trolling the west dike at Willard with a Rapala. Several hours later we took it into Smith's in Brigham City and had it weighed on the meat department scale. It was 2 ounces under the state record after being drug around on a stringer. I had no idea it was that close to the record. Acey

Ok guys, can I just remind some people of a couple of things. 1) I did not intend to have this topic end up being simply a thread to bash on someone. I wanted to gather some info on big bass in UT. So unless you have something to say that will prove helpful in the collection of this data, shut it. I know we all have feelings about certain topics (and believe me, I do too), but please, I'm getting tired of sifting through all this poop to get to the real info I want. 2) Like I said, I'm trying to collect some info, this thread wasn't just merely created for everyone to brag about the big fish they caught, so please include at least SOME info with saying what you caught.

Now I've got a couple of questions for people:

-bluefishon: Thanks for the info, would you mind saying what time of the year you caught your 5lber at Pelican?

-Tuna-Hooker: That's a nice lookin' bass! Any info on what time of the year it was caught? What it was caught on? Cover/Structure it was around? If there's any of that you want to keep to yourself, that is quite all right...but at least the time of the year would be great...

-Fin-S-Fish: I can understand not wanting to divulge the location. Quite all right. What more can you share with us though? What time of the year did you catch your 6lber? What was it caught on? Cover/Structure?

Aug-6-02 deer creek 19 3/4in. smallie caught on a green and white spinnerbait on the west point of the island.
june-7-01 utah lake 22 in. lm caught on a 5in. twister tail pumpkin seed color in A.F. east bank.
july-18-03 jordanelle 19 1\4 smallie caught on a pumpkin green 4in, senko. there was also 2 other smallies caught the same month that were just over 19in.

I caught 5 LMB over five pounds last year. One was caugt in Arizona in Nov and the rest were all caught in Aug on Pineview. I also caught a 5 pound small mouth and probably ten four pound small mouth out of pineview in July. All bass were released to be caught another day. Please release all big bass in pineview so we can keep our slim LMB population there. Bass_trackin

LMB off the west dike at Mantua in spring of 2005. Caught on a purple worm fished in the rocks. 7# even! 19 3/4" long if i remember right. Full of eggs i'm sure and behemothic!
SMB out of pineview on a salt stick. June of last year. 21 1/2" long and around 6#. Caught on a sand flat adjacent to a deep dropoff.

I took mine at Pineview and it was in June last year. I was fishing just east of the parking area out side of the gate, on the north side of the road.

My bass came from Pineview in the first week of September on a buzz bait ran along a steep gravel edge, it was about 7:30 to 8:00 in the morning. It was over cast with a slight drizzle and no wind. How's that? Specific and vague all at the same time.lol

here are a couple out of nelle.

This big gal was bedding. So about early may. It was caught on a watermelon colored 5 inch lizard texas rigged with a Gamakatsu 4/0 wide gap hook. Pegged cone sinker. The bed was on a medium hard bottom admist heavy vegetation in a opening.

Wow, nice! I think your fish may have been longer though. 7 lb and 19 inch range seems short. The absolutely girthiest bass I caught ever was 19 1/2 but it was only 4 lbs 8oz. I wonder is my scale waaaaay off. I better get a new digital one and test my food scale to it. If you haven't noticed, in this year's fishing guide.....a 6lb bass spearfish record appeared. lmb. It measured slightly over 19 inches......if my scale is wrong I may have caught waaaay heavier bass than I thought all these years......lol.

Well, I kind of feel like I'm repeating myself, but...once again...I did not start this thread just for everyone to brag about their big fish, even though I know that's fun. So please, don't just say..."Hey, I caught a big fish in Pelican!" And post a picture of it. Pictures are cool, yes...and I like looking at them, but that's not what I want to get out of this thread. So anyways, a few more questions for a few more of you. Oh, and thank you for those who replied with more info. MUCH appreciated...

Yeah, well...you like men. Sorry, I just had to throw in some sort of high school-like insult just for the heck of it. Obviously you are one of the ones who does NOT understand the purpose of this thread. I created it so that I could obtain some info. Mainly, I am trying to look at the months that various lakes produce some of their bigger fish. And if you actually take the time to look back at a lot of the info in this thread, there are some pretty blatant patterns that emerge. I know now when to target what lakes for big bass. Quite frankly, I'm after some records this year.

Ohhhh so this is just your sneaky little way to snatch info from experienced fishermen.
You could have just posted a thread called "Need some info on big bass in various lakes". Most BFT members are happy to help people out with information, but if you are not clear on what you want, you won't get it.
From the title of your post, it seems like you just wanted everybody to post up pics of their biggest bass.

Oh, so you're one of those dorks who only reads the subject of a thread and doesn't even bother reading the actually post to go along with it...in my original post at the beginning of this thread I said...

If you read through a lot of the posts in this thread, there are plenty enough guys who understood that that is what I was going after too. Infact, it seems to be that it was the other experienced bass anglers I associate with on this board that could clearly see what I was getting at and knew just what info to post.

Oh...and...glad you clarified the fact that you don't like men. I was getting worried there for a minute...

I caught a 5lbs 18 inch smallie at strawberry! this was about three years ago. I wish I had pictures but didn't take the camera.
