Check out my new musky lure!
I bought one of these to try. A little steep on price, BUT i have watched a few shows(Lindners and some other musky specifics) and they are deadly on larger fish and look like a blast to fish. The one i ordered is 9" and 3.8oz. They range from 4" to MONSTER 15" ones. I will get it early next week and let you know how they work as soon as i can get up and use it.Smile

What happens when a 40"+ Musky rips the tail off of that thing? Do you send it in for repairs???Tongue Hope it works out for you. I dont know if you know much about the Tiger Musky they catch in my home state of Colorado, specifically Horseshoe Reservoir in Walsenburg, Co, but a lot of the guys there use these HUGE triple-jointed baits that resemble...........more like, look like Muskrats!!! These things have to be 12"-18" long and are the craziest looking contraptions you have ever seen, especially when they cast it 200 ft with a huge close face Zebco Reel!!!! But they work, have seen plenty of 48"++++ Musky come out of them waters!!! Anyhow, good luck!!!

Have you seen the one where they glue and fold about 10 inches of rabbit fur around two tandem hooks......Then they glue on a couple of plastic eyes?

I get the yearly catalog from the Musky Shop and they have the biggest selection of lures I've ever seen. There web site doesn't do the catalog justice. It's a great catalog. Get on their mailing list - you will enjoy it!!!

CoolLooks like it already caught one "Lunker"...a Brody bass.

Larry Dahlberg, who has the TV program on "Search for Big Fish" uses a similar big plastic for large fish of several species...on many of his programs. Last week he showed how to make a mold and pour your own. If you have good luck with that we will have to go into production.

That isn't a lot of money for a handpoured 9" swimbait!! Who cares if the tail gets bit off or it snags in the bushes. If your not getting snags and loosing an occasional lure your not putting the bait where it needs to be. I think it is a sexy bait and if you stay the course you will be rewarded with a big musky. Do your own thing man, when you land a 50"+ musky they will all own a dozen of each color. About 10 years ago they said the same thing about Lucky Craft.

Why did you stop using them Needlefish? What do you use now? That is if you don't mind me asking.

For me, they weren't getting as much attention as other baits. Their durability was not the greatest either; at least not for the limited return I was getting from them. They may work just fine for others, I just wasn't a big fan of them. I pull them out now and again but I use more durable hard baits more often now.

CoolFishing is a democratic process. You always gotta let the fish vote for what they want. And, unlike American government, you gotta pay attention to what the voters say.

Well put TD.

I have found from many decades of experience that having your line in the water improves enormously your chances of catching a fish. On the other hand, as Iíve frequently learned from those same decades of experience, having your line in the water is no guarantee you will catch a fish...
