Welcome afloat girlsgonefishin and thanks for your participation here.

I really love my fishmaster. I have had a few different tubes since that one but my Fishmaster is still useable.

If fishmaster would have stuck it out like some of the other companies, I'm sure they would have made some of the most awesome and reputable V shaped tubes and Pontoons.Cool

Bass are toys. Gills and Trout are food.

Maybe, but doubtful. The car tire is very reliable, but heavy.
Remember that Leigh Pontoons originally had a modified car tire and they weighed a TON.
Plus a circle is about as safe and strong as it gets, but now modify that circle to a "u" or a "V" plus even a pontoon and you now have seams/welds.
People want packability and that means light, plus the ability to pump them up easier. I used a bicycle pump on my old Caddis, but seems a couple of pumps with the double actions on todays boats is all you need.
Just people looking for new and improved/better things.
I remember in my Caddis thinking, Man, if I just sat a little higher so my elbows aren't resting on the boat, and man, I wish I didn't have to CLIMB into this...well, so did allot of other people think that , so companies answered the request.
The old saying, you can catch a fish with a string and pole, so why a $600. rod? Comfort!

I have tried the others and I am sure they all have their applications. I need a tube that allows me to haul it around the boat and takes a lot of abuse. I use them in catfish tournaments (Lots of abuse – from getting in the brush, catfish fins, aired up TIGHT).

The Fishmaster has been the best that we can find to hold up to our style. The others start out good but don’t handle the punishment. We have a blast catching bluecats up to 50 lbs with 12ft fly rods in water less than 3 ft deep in some of the thickest brush and cover you can imagine here in Texas. The major problem I have with the Fishmasters is that we pump them up full & tight and eventually the zippers start to fail – the seams are actually stronger and built better than the zippers. I am currently having a seamstress redo the zipper on a tube cover that is 15 years old.

Still looking for a Fishmaster? Here's one that's probably straight from the showroom floor!

Found it a couple years ago and couldn't pass it up,..has the Paddle Pushers and even the brochure.I figure it must be from the mid 50s looking at the Pflueger reels in the brochure..looks like waxed canvas or something.
If it's been used..it was probably only ONCE!
I've reached an age my knees won't push fins anymore so my fishing is strictly walking rivers, usually the North Fork of the Stilly for flyfishing steelhead..and not enough of that any more.I sold off all my tubes over this last year..except this one.
Oh well..just another picture for your fishmaster collection!

Sorry..sold it about 6 months ago for I think $60.I never used it and it was getting a lot of dust on it from laying too close to my wood shop...I believe it's hanging in a man cave now as a conversation piece.

Welcome aboard Randy. But responding to a 9 year old thread? You must be reading all the old stuff just to be sure you haven't missed anything.

That's okay. At my age I don't remember what I posted yesterday.
