Re: [curt69] Henry's Lake
Here is an 8 pound Hybred I caught last week on Henry's . I know your not going to believe a fish that is only 24" long could ever weight that much but I checked it on two scales . It is 12" deep . It is the second largest Trout I have ever caught . Curt G.
Re: [curt69] Henry's Lake
Very nice looking trout. I am hoping I can catch something around that size soon. A few friends and I rented a cabin in Island Park for the weekend of the 23rd. I can't wait to get up there and do some real fishing. Hope the weather straightens up. Guess I will have to work on the browns in the Snake until then.
Re: [curt69] Henry's Lake
Fished this morning and landed 27 before ten thirty. It is super good up there. One 25" and broke two others off.
Re: [lone_wolf] Henry's Lake
Bait and no I did not have it mounted . It was slow day . I fished 5 hours and caught that one fish . Curt G.

Re: [curt69] Henry's Lake
Curt,
Congrats on a beautiful fish. A fish like that can make a one-fish day all worthwhile! Mike

Re: [flygoddess] Henry's Lake
Yes that fly of yours is awesome! All super healthy fish. I had two break me off! I'm going up again tomorrow and hopefully it will be warm enough that the camera works.
Re: [flygoddess] Henry's Lake
Flygoddess,
What is the MF fly? Also what does MF stand for? I hope something like Micky Finn.

Re: [SteelFisher] Henry's Lake
Midnite Fire. It is a woolly bugger, and the chenille is quite popular now. Black Chenille with red, gold, and blue sparkles in it.
Black marabou tail, and black huxley palmered forward with extra wraps at the eye to form a pusher. As small as a 14 and as big as an 8.
Some things are better left alone, Even though, some feel they know better.

Re: [Everet14] Henry's Lake
Everet,
We fished Henrys on Wednesday and Thursday and had great fishing but not as hot as what you had. I hope Saturday will be ok, the weather looks rough for Henrys.

Re: [flygoddess] Henry's Lake
Any chance you could post a picture of that fly? It sounds like a very effective pattern.

Edit: Did a little research...
Re: [SteelFisher] Henry's Lake
Beat me to it. Here is mine with red Flashabou in the tail:
Also, I palmer the hackle forward for more push/motion.

Re: [flygoddess] Henry's Lake
Ordered some materials for the MF. Hope they get here before I goto Henry's. Been tying a few flies, starting to get the hang of a few. Guess we will see how my fly tying and fly fishing skills are when I hit Henry's. What size of hook works best?
Re: [flygoddess] Henry's Lake
Thank you for the pictures- I have a few of those tied up that I haven't used in 2 years- I guess they'll get wet next week.
Re: [prvrt] Henry's Lake
So any reports from Henry's recently? The weather seems to be getting better. Got my new rod, but I have to wait until Friday to check it out since I do not get home early enough to get out after work with these short fall days.
Re: [flygoddess] Henry's Lake
I'll be at Henry's Tomorrow Morning in my parents boat. We'll be bait fishing Rapala and spinner. I will also try some flies off of a bobber from my spinning reel, Doubtful that will work but I gotta try it. We'll be there in the morning to evening depending on the fish and we may even go back up on Sunday, again, depending on the fish. I will try some bank fishing to.
Any comments or suggestions will be pleasantly received if you PM me. Thanks
KentB.

Re: [Im4Trout] Henry's Lake
Try that water bubble on your spinning outfit with a scud or even a mighty mouse. Put a small "BB" size split shot about a foot up from the fly, and a stopper on the bubble giving you a 10 to 12 foot drop to bottom.
Fish eat scud/sow bugs ALL the time. The Cutt at Henry's are not fish eaters, but they will attack fish lures, but they will eat bugs!
