Lost dog directions
Well since I missed the burbot bash this year a couple of friends and myself are planning to head to lost Dog this weekend for some of those tasty burbot. My question is what is the fastest way to get there from ogden? From what I understand it would be through Green River. just wondering if it is clearly marked. Thanks for any help...

Definitely - go through Green River & then go approx 20 - 30 minutes south. Dirt road (fisherman access) No. 11 is clearly marked which will get you to the south end of Lost Dog. I do not recall if Lost Dog is marked or not? If you see road No. 11, you have gone too far south.

Good luck on the burbots - they are harder to catch than you think. I fished all weekend and caught two 12-inchers - so I got nothing to offer you.

Hey thanks for the directions!!! Sorry you had a bad w/k end. Ive fish for burbot for a few yrs now all in montana so hopefully what works there will also work at the gorge.(fingers crossed) How is the mack action around that area?

Mack fishing was slooow! There were seven of us fishing and we figured we averaged one mack for every 5 to 6 man hours of fishing - all pups. Saw a lot of fish on the fish finder & they just were not biting. The weather was the best I have ever seen at FG (except Saturday late p.m.) - I do not know if this had anything to do with it.
Sunday p.m. was T-shirt weather.

We fished all over the reservoir down Road Number 11. The ice varied from 2-inches to 12-inches. The further south you went the thinner the ice. Buck Board marina has open water. Good luck!

Lost
dog road is about mile marker 9 or 10, there is a sign that says Lost Dog at the turnoff, then it is 10 miles down a dirt, washboarded road to the Confluence. You can also go in at road 11, about 20 miles south of Green River. ( This sign is only a piece of metal about 18" x 18", is brown with the number 11). This will bring you to just south of the confluence. Fish these cliffs from this road north to the confluence on the east side of the lake. We were at the Skunk Cliffs on Sat. and caught 6 ling in 80' - 100' of water as we were fishing for macks during the day. They are on the bottom and waiting for anything to eat. ! of my friends lost a jig and later retrieved it in a ling he caught later that day. They were all full of crawdads. We caught all of these ling all during the day, even though the first part of evening after sundown always seens the best.
