My girlfriend's pond is my primary locale. It takes about 6 minutes to get to her house. The Tennessee River is my secondary option. It takes about 8 minutes at most. I'm lucky haha.

I have several ponds ( Eight ) within a mile of my apt and usually put my tackle box and rods into a backpack and then mountain bike to those ponds within a 5 to 10 minute bike ride.

For my cat fishing river spot its about 3 miles away and a 5 minute drive in the truck.

Last year was 16 hours one way.. I only got to go fishing once in Canada.. I'm hoping to cut that down some this year by fishing more often closer to home..

But here we are the 1st of may around the corner and I still don't have any wet line :(

20 Minutes to salt water inlets.
30 Minutes to the Atlantic Ocean
10 Minutes Up, to fresh water ponds, lakes and rivers.
Hunting locations are the same.

I can be to one of my all time best spots. for numbers and size. in just a couple of mins. like i said i'm only three miles from gem lake dam. and fishin in the channel can be amazin. there has been days where i just go and slaughter rainbows. all day long. and then other days the pickins are a lot slimmer but your are catchin 2-5 pound browns on the average. the biggest fish other then stealhead that i have seen caught was there. and it was caught by chromejunky. it was a 15 pound brown. it was HUGE. when it was laid in the sink both head and tail stuck up out of it at least 6 inches on each side. so i go there cause i stand a chance at catchin a trophy fish. and it happens to be extremely close. LUCKY ME. LaughSly and so yeah thats why i go there...

Well I live within a mile or so of the Kentucky River and am also by two very large creeks that are barely short of being a river themselves. There is water everywhere around here though and I haven't even fished all the places in this area.

I'm thinking of going tonight and trying out some new lures I bought today.

Crappie beware!!!

I would say 45 to an hour. I have some favorites around 30 min away and others an hour or more away. The Boise river is only 5 minutes away but I haven't fished that for a while.

Great post idea!

Mine is usually about 30-45 minutes. Although one lake i fish alot is about 10 minutes away. Other lakes that I like fishing but are usually too far away to fish regularly are about 1-2hours away and I only fish those when i feel like burning alot of gas!Cool
