reel recomendations
i need a reel hat would be good for bass fishing, but it needs to be able to do a few things.....

first- it needs to be a good caster as i will mostly be using from shore sometimes in tight quarters

second- it need to be affordable....for example under 100 or better yet under 60

third- i want it toe strong as i will be using it for flipping, pitching and swim baits.

if it helps it will be on the 7'6 abu vendetta and will mostly be in small 2-3 acre ponds but they do hold a few 3+ fish which next year will be about 4

any help would be apretiated

Do you want a bait caster or a spinning reel?

Dude, you're using a 7'6" rod and worried about tight quarters??? It just sounds funny.

Tacklewarehouse was selling Abu Garcia Revo models at great prices but they might all be gone. If they are all gone, look on e-Bay for a used Shimano Citica (2009 model). They are $120 brand new so you should be able to get a used one in good shape for $80 to $100. The link to the specifications is below:

http://fish.shimano.com/...tcasting/Citica.html

11 pounds of drag is plenty and the reel weighs 7.8 oz. The extra line capacity in the spool is handy too. I have about a half dozen of the new Curados and they're all 100% reliable. The Citica is basically the same reel with two less ball bearings and $60 cheaper.

bait casting, the main things are price, distance and durability

I have a 'still in the box' (it really is still in the box) never been used Pinnacle Extant HS Metal ex10hs. I've never fished with this reel so I can't offer much info on it. I did find one link on it, click here and then scroll down to the Extant HS.
If you're interested I'd let it go for $45.00 and ship it to you. It looks like a good reel but I've never taken it out of the box, it is a right hand reel and I use left hand.
It may not be what you're looking for but I thought I would throw it out there, I'm not going to use it.

The Bass Pro stuff is pretty good, especially the "Johnny Morris" signature stuff.

There is a nice $60.00 combo at Wal-Mart, it is a Quantum bait caster on a 6'6" stick. It may be only in my area but the same rig eslewhere goes for $89.99.

At any rate, good luck and have fun fishing!

If i were you i would check out the Diawa Exceller! Do some research on it and you will see that it is a great reel. Nicely priced for what you get too. Its in the $70.00 range give or take, but it performs like a $150.00 reel.

If you're looking for a good quality reel under $100, then I would recommend the Daiwa Exceler at around $70. Or you can also with the Abu Garcia 5500 C3, if you don't mind a round baitcasters. These are definitely the reels that I would go with, for quality, performance and price, can't go wrong with them. Check them out at www.ultimatefishingtackle.com
