ultimate inshore gamefish
i was wondering that everybody thought was the perfect/ultimate game fish, if you can include pictures and a reason why

me personaly, i am tied between bluefish and bass, they are both incredible fighter, bluefish will fisht to the death and when nearing 20lbs, their moths resemble sharks, and they are reasy to carch and realetivleygood tasting
the striped bass on the other hand fights also very hard, with good runs, tastes incredible and requires reel thought to be able to catch

First, i'd say you need to define what you call "inshore." I know that's a no brainer for some, but others are sticklers for what they call Inshore, nearshore, and offshore.

For arguements sake, lets say inshore is out to 3 miles (pontoon boat range).

Two fish come to mind, and I say two because one is often hooked, but rarely landed; Tarpon. But, a readily availible species that is accessable to most anglers, that in my opinion is a superior gamefish compared to all others inshore, are large bull redfish. (Red Drum and Spottail bass are other common names depending on where you are on the east coast) They get in excess of 50 pounds, they are super tough, and have gear ripping speed and power.

ya from what i seen where you are that seems like thats what it would be, but up in New England it would have to be Striper's and bluefish, and they definitely qualify as inshore, i have seen them beech themselves for fish but they are very plentiful, hard fighting and great eating, although bluefish are easier to find bass give quite a problem when i try to find them

Tough choice between blue and a striper. But the blue pound for pound is a saltwater smallmouth. Never had a blue that got caught up in seaweed and stop fighting. Striper fillets are awesome.
