Whether we like it or not, the fish are in the Ellis area, and they were there this last weekend. The Pahsimeroi Hatchery gathered 598 fish from the 23rd to the 26th. Tough bite when they're screaming through...

They'd best look out starting Thursday....!!!

I'll second that motion. Wish I would have known there would only be 6 trucks there on saturday, cuz I really made a decision that I knew deep down I shouldn't have. That would have been fun.

Started out at North Fork on thursday and managed one wild buck and saw a couple others landed but the water was off color so I headed upriver. hit around ellis thursday night through saturday and the fish were definitely there. the crowd really wasn't bad until saturday which was a surprise since there were fish in the area but saturday really filled up. started out tossing flies and went through several different variations before I started hitting them on ornage trout beads or a small orange crystal egg. once I got to tossing those it was pretty much game on.

Got lucky Saturday fishing a little upstream of the Challis area. too cold in Stanly in the morning (-5).
3 guys, 3 limits, and some wild fish turned back.

Single egg patterns and large stoneflys on fly gear.

I haven't had red caviar in a few years. I love that stuff, goes good with some smoked steelhead and cream cheese. Good Job.

You did better than we did Saturday. We fished for a couple of hours in the Clayton area and it was slow. Maybe we should have stuck around for the afternoon and evening.

ok- had to try it again the 12th and 13th. little holes away from the crowds at Sunbeam were red hot. banked 28 fish in a day and a half of flyfishing between two of us. Most were wild, but we managed some keepers in there, two.

Here's just a couple pics

Great fun Nijimasu! I too was in that area, and also had a blast!! Great wild buck in your pics, but we need to quit calling the "Indian fish" wild. My Son and I landed a bunch of fish last week, but only two were truly wild, as the one in you pics. Tough to beat the fun to be had up high during April...
