Fishing Walleye...?

Alright so I just picked up fishing as a hobby, and I am determined!
I really want to catch a Walleye, but I know very little about what to fish them with.

I got some tips from a friend and here's what I have, 1"/2cm Minnow (Chartreuse Shad), 3"/8cm Power Grub (White), 2"/5cm Power Grub (Milky Salt & Pepper). I am unsure if I have the right stuff for fishing Walleye with. Any tips on PowerBait to use, things I need to know?

I'm fishing Utah Lake in the morning.

Really appreciate any feedback.

90% of the walleyes I've caught have been at night. The lateran attracts bug and bugs attract little fish and so on. Chartreuse is a money color. I've caught white bass ans catfish while walleye fishing.good luck

Honestly, walleye aren't that hard to catch. Now if you have the patience of a 5 year old, then you may as well give up now. Haha. It takes tons of patience and confidence in what you are using. I have caught most of mine off grubs of all colors from 2"-5" on 1/16-1/4 oz heads, depending on depth and current if there is one. Lures also work like rapalas, crank baits, and spinners even. I think it boils down to getting whatever you're going to use in front of their face and being the right time. Early mornings are good as are evenings. I've caught tons during morning and evening hours, so not totally necessary to go at 1 am and lose sleep.

To be successful for the most part be persistent. Getting up at 1 a.m. is a great idea. Once you catch a few it gets easier. You start to pattern what works and when and why. Don't be bashful about trying something new. Be careful though, getting up at 1 am can be a good thing with Walleye.... I think I have them figured out, but TD (tube dude) seems to think I am not to be trusted.... I also think I know what women want...

For Utah lake go big. 6 inch rapalas in silver casting from shore is a good place to start. Don't worry if you don't catch them every night. There are not a "ton" of Walleye in Utah lake and though there are plenty to catch, they Utah lake variety are the most finicky. I could tell you more but there are so many depends and wherefore's that it would not make sense unless I was there at the time and the knew the exact conditions.

Even then it might go back to persistence, or was that pestilence? Good luck!

Anybody know what Willard Bay has been like for fishing right now? I'm trying to decide somewhere to try tomorrow. I went to Utah Lake today and it didn't go so well, plus it was REALLY cold with that wind.

If you went up an saw them in the provo where they are stacked you might change your mind on there not being a ton on there. There are more than plenty in the lake the river is one small spot. I do agree they are finicky though.

Go up to the Ogden River and you might change your mind about how many Utah Lake has... I have spent many Days casting to the Outlet of the Provo. The Ogden River is closed for the same reason. Be careful lots of private property on the Ogden River.

When did I once say there aren't a ton "on there" ? I am very well aware of how many walleye spawn up river since I lived right by it and grew up fishing it.

Ok, I just realized that you mistakenly quoted me rather than the intended target. I was confused.
