I think I replied to this question on another forum:

However, I've heard from a few people that the roads to the lake are not great.

Might be worth checking out anyways man. The roads could be in better shape now... hard to say. That lake is on my agenda though over the next month so if I make it out there I can give you a first hand account of the road.

I know Daffy on this forum took his boat out there and he mentioned something about the roads, you might want to try the search function on BFT to find that post.

If my memory serves me right, he mentioned 40 miles of not-so-great roads. If you take them slow not a problem, just a matter of time...

When I headed up there two years ago they were working on paving that road, and heard that they are finished now. They paved like ten or fifteen miles of the road out of town. I also heard that the road from Saratoga west into the mountains is a lot shorter, never went that way. Worth the time to go up there though, lots of good kokanee and tiger trout. Good luck...

I have a 17' Searay and was able to get it up there no problem. The road from Rawlins is say 40 to 50 Miles with the first 15 or so miles paved. It is a however very nice gravel road, a little steep in spots,a couple of the passes we went through on the way reached 8000', it's just a long pull.
Nice boat ramp/staging area with restroom, the only problem with the lake as I can see is that there is "No Camping" signs all over near the lake. It is out in the middle of no where, and not much access at all.
Yes please let us know how you do.
