Fishing

Saw Bscuderi at Sportsmans and hung out for a bit. We then thought "hell why not fish?" We decided to meet in 30 mins. HA! Bscuderi met me 1hr later! With that out of the way we set sail on the tubes and toons at our ultra top secret fly fishing water. Bscuderi was 1st to get into fish. I was not far behind. Within 2 casts I got a rainbow to the toon on the fly. I then proceeded to land a brook trout and even more rainbows before leaving.

Bscuderi was using dry flies and got himself into brook trout and rainbow. It was great to fish a spot semi close to SLC full of brookies and rainbows and be totally alone to have at them to our hearts content. A true new found gem indeed!

There ya go...hotspotting the Jordan River again. Not sure I would want to run a toon down it though...but glad you got some carp in camo. Good photoshopping.

Hope the toon held air for ya.

I've took to calling them albino carp myself.

Light travels faster than sound.

So some people seem really bright until you hear them talk.

cool, save some $$$ buy a 7 or 8 weight, a decent reel, and some good line.. go hook a musky or wiper on your toon and let it tow you around, its a blast! not to mention all the looks people give you as you are being towed out into open water buy a fish!

Uh the toon did slightly leak. Maybe it has a smaller hole somewhere.

I might get another reel and add a sinking line of some sorts. Is a 5 weight too small for wipers? I don't get what would be the issue with the smaller weight. Ha shows my extremely limited knowledge in fly gear! Still I did find some 1x tippet. Will that stuff work?

you can catch them on a 5 weight, it will be one hell of a tough fight, 1X might be a little big but will defenitly work. i use a stell tippet for musky, and 3X for wiper. i have caught one wiper on a 4 weight and it was on like donkey kong, by fr one of the most brutal fights ive had on a 4 weight. it will likely exhuast and kill the fish, but its a wiper and was going to be killed anyway

Hope you didn't put that sharp-pointed "protective" collar back on the air bladder...or let it bounce off your hair.

Air up that bladder to the max and let it sit in one place for a day or so to watch for lost pressure. (not in a hot garage) If it is leaking you can bring it in for a 1000 bubble checkup. Those things can drive you wacko. Might be a good idea to carry a small pump with you. That's what TubeBabe has to do. If she takes the pump...no problem. If she doesn't take the pump she loses pressure.

Nice job with the colorful trout. I wish I could fish as much as you guys- and I bet I'm not the only one who says that.

I miss my toon. I'll prob get another one in the future.

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought you had a boat Lava. That is my goal one day! Less paddling around and pumping air!

No collar this time. I will pump it up tonight and try this out. I did carry the air pump with me this time. There is plenty of room.

Pretty sure I saw you out there if you're the spikey haired fellow with the pontoon. I managed 3 brooks and 2 rainbows from shore using a various assortment of goodies. If you're the one I saw I'm quite jealous of you being able to get out into the middle with the fish all around you.
