When do you choose red flake in your green pumpkin plastics?

I do it right off. Will change to no flake if I start getting few hits with it. Some days I've killed with no flake. Some cry for it.

 Red flake, where do I start? It doesn't really work for me here in Utah, usually, in Texas and the south I like watermelon/red flake anything. I don't have many green pumpkin/red flake plastics but I'm sure they would work just as well.
Fishing plastics changes my style if you get it, I change my style, speed, rods and force myself to slow down. I have my favorite plastics for different waters but I"m sure they will all work everywhere. I've got a tourney this weekend, if my go-to baits aren't working I'll throw on a green pumpkin/red flake bait and see what happens. Worse thing that could happen is I'm out bass fishing on my weekend off

I love red flake. We actually just made a bait that is all red flake and no dye. First day out landed a 5lber on it. Something about that red flake that bass here just love.

Yesterday was all about flake.I was catching my bass on a christmas tree color worm by Wave. My partner started to hammer them on a rootbeer/ multi flake. When I switched to a watermelon with no flake, nothing till I switched back to multi flake. You gotta have flake.
