It will be interesting to hear how you do, cranks have not been working very well this year, slow it down a little and you might have better luck. 1- 1.8 mph have worked a lot better so far this year for the wipers but their number are down, so catching two or three is a good day this year. That could change as the shad get bigger. There is a good crop of smaller wipers that are 11 to 14 inches that will be good sized by next year, and another crop that are 15 to 18 inches but they are fewer in number, the 19 to 22 inch wipers are the in the lowest numbers. The smaller wipers are already chasing the shad and you might see them on the surface before noon, if it isn't too windy. At the speed you will be trolling, walleye will likely be what you will catch. Good luck.
