Bear lake questions???
Has anyone went to bear lake latly because im going on pioneers day and then going back probly the following weekend. I was wondering how is shore fishing? Has the water gone up? Is the vegitation growing tall because that my main worries if its already tall because i dont want it to be short like it was last time I went >_<.

Im mostly going to be targetting carp, mountain whites, perch, and maybe some cutties if i can find them, and for sure find my chubs and slaughter them and keep them this time so i can use them for bait one day.

Another thing so chubs are none game fish so its a no limit keep as well. Plus in the book it says if i catch none game fish i can use cast nets its looks like Smile Looks like for the cast net that sit for almost 1 year in the same spot will be used once again ^_^

I was up there last weekend for a family thing and didn't do any fishing but we camped on the south end close to the shore and seen lots of carp splashing in the shallows there was some tall vegitation in the shallows, the water level seemed ok, wasn't full but close too.

If you aint catchin em'...

Sounds good because if vegetation is going up and carps are there looks like I will have some fun.

To answer your questions.. You should be fine.. You can find plenty of open area's away from the vegitation.. The dead tree's are kind of an issue if you fishing something very far under the surface..

I was diving a couple of weeks ago and saw plenty of trash fish in shallow

I have been up there the last couple of weeks, and the vegitation has definatly grown. I have been fly fishing for carp and chubs. I have not found any perch or white fish where i have been fishing, which is about a mile south of logan canyon, (family cabin). I have used a chronimid, rubbed with a little cheese power bait. The chubs are a blast on the the 3 wt, and the one big carp i got on broke the line. I would like to hear if you are able to find any perch, and where they are at. I have never caught one or seen them in the lake. Have fun.
