I've had the most success from sun-up to around 10am and from around 630pm until sun-down. I've been using various crank baits and plastics, and they all seem to be producing equally well.
The pictures attached are some of the bigger fish I managed to catch this past weekend ranging from 3-7 lbs (I scaled the fish I'm holding in the pic at a hair under 7 lbs...he sunk straight to the bottom and fought so hard I thought it was a channel cat until I got him in!).
The pic with the planter rainbow next to him was a cool story. After I landed him, my curiosity got the best of me and I decided to weigh him. While I was getting out the scale, I looked down the cavernous throat and saw the tail fin of another fish squirming. I pulled out that planter rainbow, which was still alive, and he even swam away when I released both of them!
The largemouth fishing has been incredible the past month. Doesn't seem to matter which body of water I go to (which holds them of course), they seem to be hungry and biting!
