Fourfecta at DC - picture should work now
I think I just made that word up, but what I'm saying is we caught four species today at DC. Hit the lake early and fishing was on with the top water lures again. Managed one decent largie, couple small small mouths. Then the wakeboarders were out in full swing so we went over to the Charleston end to do some trolling. There we picked up a decent perch and a couple walleye. Check out the pic I attached, what the heck is wrong with this walleye?

Also, what were all those boats stacked up at the inlet fishing for? Was there any catching? I didn't want to push my way in there and bug people on what they were doing. Good choice I guess since we landed a few walleye on what I would call the Charleston flats in about 10' of water.

I forgot to hit upload. Let me know if you guys can't open it. I tried to save it in a compatible format for everyone.

Jpeg is the best format to use for BFT. Good going on the DC slam, how big were the eyes?

Tiny. We caught two in total. One was maybe 8" the other 12-14".

The Deer Creek Inlet has great habitat for almost all the DC residents.

You'll find some of the boats are hugging the shore casting for bass, some are bottom jigging for walleye, and most are drift baiting or trolling for whatever will bite -- mostly rainbows.

Trolling in that area I've caught trout and perch on the same lures.

Give a man a fish and he's fed for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll spend his life squinting at invisible thread.

All the boats we saw must have been anchored up in the middle, because they weren't moving. It looked like we were the only ones trolling on the flats. I figured they knew something that I didn't?

I'm no marine biologist but maybe it's a case of fish scoliosis? Wink

I was wondering if you can keep 2 different fish species in the same fish basket or would it be better to keep them separated?

That is a wierd looking one. Yeah either it was sick or injured when it was younger.

Most of the time if the boats are anchored they usually are after trout or perch.

They should be fine in the same basket.

We were all Anchored there knocking the Crap out of the Bows. when I left there were 26 boats. But go there on a Saturday Ice Fishing in January in the same spot and you will see 26 Tents.
