Bassrods do you happen to have a copy of the proposed agenda you could attach. I looked on the DWR site and it only shows the 1 Nov meeting and I see no agenda to review on what will be potentially discussed. I'd really like to review the agenda if at all possible.

Location: Lake Katchabigun

Once you know everything about anything its what you learn afterwards that counts.

Skunked, we never get skunked its the fish getting skunked as they just kept missing our lures.

First of all, the fishing RAC meetings have been completed in the previous two weeks. There are no more for the year. What you are referring to the Wildlife Board meeting that is indeed on November 1st at 9:00 AM.

Second, I don't see an agenda published yet for the WB meeting. Perhaps you would like to share with us how you know this change will be discussed? It wasn't on the agenda of items under consideration for this years RAC meetings and wasn't approved at the RAC meeting I attended. (it is possible it could have been passed at another RAC,)

FYI. The proposal to change the spearfishing regulations to be the same as hook and line angling; i. e., 12 months of the year, all legal waters, was presented at a couple of the RAC meetings during the past two weeks. However, I do not believe that either RAC made a formal recommendation on the proposal.

Because no formal proposal was forthcoming from the RACs and the idea has not been part of our public process this year, the DWR is not proposing this change for 2013. The Wildlife Board does take comments during the meeting and can include items not in our recommendations, but it is relatively rare that they do so.

We encourage all anglers to be part of the process and are welcome to attend any of the RAC or Wildlife Board meetings which are related to fishing topics.

I have not seen the final agenda for the November 1 Wildlife Board meeting, but they usually start around 9 am.

We should have the final agenda in the next couple of weeks. People who are interested in the process should keep an eye on our website www.wildlife.utah.gov or should email me if they want more information on the time, location or topics of the board meeting.

Thanks,

Paul

The RAC meeting I attended in Springville, spear fisherman proposed a year 'round season. They did not ask for 24 hr. The Utah bowfishing association was asking for the use of lights so they can shoot carp 24 hrs.

Since we’ve already heard from a State employee (Paul) that your statements are false, I can only assume that none of your 3 stories came from an official source. And yet, you saw fit to bloviate unsubstantiated information to the masses via the Internet. I only have one question; why?

The recommendations below are the only items that were voted on at the RAC's. They will be the only items that will be presented at the Wildlife Board Meeting. This doesn't mean that a public citizen won't get up at the Wildlife Board and present a proposal.
There were two additional items that the public expressed interest in that deserve mention.
1. Several wheel-chair bound individuals attended the RAC's and would like to be provided an allowance for wheel-chair bound folks to bow-fish for carp with a cross-bow
2. There were 12-15 Joes Valley anglers who were interested in lifting the reservoir closure to allow some late fall tiger musky fishing. This group of anglers were historically splake anglers but are now apparently converts.

2013 Regulation Recommendations

Legalize bow fishing for common carp at nightstatewide

Utah Code 23-20-8

Why?? At the time it was the only thing I had to go on, and I thought others would like to know...

Having the dates of the RAC or Wild life meetings in a timely time people can plain ahead if they want to attend..

And one of the best places to get INFO is here on BFT..

I for one cannot find anything on the DWR site like the RAC or wild life meetings when looking..

CoolI started putting up posts on the scheduled RAC meetings, agendas and links to the DWR boards where the info was listed...starting a month before the first meeting in September...and then reminders a couple of days before. And then a review of what was covered.
