It is illegal to trespass on a golf course to fish in one of their ponds.

If you had permission from the owners, I cannot see any other issue with it.

Give a man a fish and he's fed for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll spend his life squinting at invisible thread.

If you ask the guys in the proshop, they'll probably tell you no. At least, that's been my experience. However, the Pro at Murray Parkway said it would be alright if I followed the final group out for the day and fish the ponds behind them. Doesn't leave much in the way of daylight, but I thought it was cool of him to even offer.

Thought I'd heard about one in Layton that didn't mind folks ice-fishing. I've known of folks who had friends/family that worked at a gold course, so they got special permissions. They may even request all C&R, pretty sure some of those ponds have some real toads in 'em.

Can't hurt to ask. May depend on who you ask and how.

I have begged the guys up at park city many times and been shot down cold. I have heard there are some monster browns on the stream that goes through Jeremy Ranch. I ran into a guy who told crawled in on his hands and knees in the middle of the night. He told me about some of the epic browns he caught.
Eat it you dirty little fish!

Green River golf course has a community pond on it.
Wasatch Mountain is a state park. and here is an interesting "Rule" I found on the state park website.

"Plants, Animals and Rocks – All plants, animals, minerals and other natural features in state parks are protected. It is unlawful to hassle, remove, alter or destroy them."

That would make fishing at any state park against the rules, parks like Jordonelle, Rockport, East Canyon....
Now, if that rule does not make fishing at those parks illegal I would think fishing at Wasatch would be legal too. Although I have never seen a fish in the ponds or the streams while golfing there.Wink

The reservoirs aren't state parks. The boat ramps, campsites, restrooms, and facilities are the state parks. If Wasatch Mt. is a state park, aren't you removing, altering, or destroying the turf when you play a round of golf?

I think Rockport is surrounded by the state park. Maybe East Canyon, anyway, interesting rule about the plants and animals (fish are animals).

The way I play golf, they certainly could say I am destroying the plants.

when i was 15 i used to ride my bike at midnight over to a golfcourse near my friends house and i know i shouldnt have probly done it but i would army crawl across the driving range with my gear till i got to the ponds and the creek that connects them. some really fat rainbows i would get and some i would never get a chance until they jumped and spit my hook in the dark so golf course ponds i know are holding good fish but its if you can get permission to do so which i didnt. a few around here hold some decent lmb too.

That place is epic! I fished there every year in spring as a kid. I remember seeing huge trout all over the place by the hatchery runoffs. The lake is fun to fish all times of the year. One of my buddies goes up every February and always has a blast. He says his arm hurts from the fast, heavy and constant big trout.

Willow Creek Country Club in Sandy is the annual site of a Nationwide Tour (now Web.com Tour) event, and they have a Caddy's Fishing Tournament the day before the golf. Every year, somebody hauls a 20-pound brown out of the pond on the ninth hole. You can stand on the edge and see them cruising. Monsters, absolute monsters.

No, you canNOT fish there at any other time.

Hey, if you advocate living life to its fullest even if that means breaking the law, kindly post your address so we can live it using all your gear, huh?
