CJ,
Maybe I don't understand the scoring, or perhaps you made a mistake. I'm not sure. Did you give nonxst1 9 points for his 2x2 (2+2+5=9) and cattrapr 5 for his doe? 5+9 is 14, not 12. Or am I mistaken?

Re: [chrome_junky] 2012 BFT Deer Contest Standings and Check In.
Just got settled down from my Idaho deer hunt and thought I would enter the buck I harvested. I ended up with a 5X3 main frame with some eye guards. Unique little buck that I am very happy with. I took some pic's now its your turn to be the judge.
Short Story Short. Hunted a couple of mornings and evening spotting 9 bucks with the one i harvested being the biggest. I passed on him the first evening, and the next morning I heard a few shots in the area, my stomach got a sick feeling thinking that someone had harvested that buck
.
That evening I headed out and hear shots nearby again, so I move to a funnel advantage point and right off the bat bucks were on the move. And sure as shit the buck I was after was looking up at me at 100 or so yards and I didn't let him go this time.

Re: [chrome_junky] 2012 BFT Deer Contest Standings and Check In.
Here is my first entry for this year. This one should be worth 5 points. Hope to have another one (worth about 20 points) in about 14 days.
If you need something else on this one, let me know.

Re: [jigs] 2012 BFT Deer Contest Standings and Check In.
C'Mon, Those garden fed deer make for good eats and successful hunts!!!! Where's your entry anyways????
Re: [trophyboat] 2012 BFT Deer Contest Standings and Check In.
Well guys, I'm all tagged out now. Kinda sad that my 2 deer total the same as trophy boats 1. Come on Tob04002. Put some points up for us. Just don't shoot a little dink buck like I did! Sorry for the crappy picture. I was by myself and left the camera at home so I had to use my cell phone.

I could have shot a VERY nice muley buck a couple of days ago, but about 15 minutes before I saw him I saw a grizzly. It didn't seem like a good idea to make the kill then. I was just trying to figure out my own escape route.
I'm just hoping when I do pull the trigger on a deer that a grizz doesn't decide to show up and take my prize!

Thanks CJ . It was him or nothing 30 minutes till dark on the last day . Curt G.
Re: [trophyboat] 2012 BFT Deer Contest Standings and Check In.
Trophy boat- watch out! There's a coyote chewing on your deer in that first pic!
Re: [chrome_junky] 2012 BFT Deer Contest Standings and Check In.
I usually bow hunt- this is the first deer I've killed with a rifle in 23 years. Not because I have anything against rifles- I just suck at hunting with a gun. Turns out even a blind squirrel finds a nut on occasion.
I shot this 4X4 with eyegards Saturday afternoon. I'd got myself in a little steep and deep for a solo hunt, and when the snow started to blow in, I started fearing for my life a little bit. Ended up cutting off the hind quarters and tieing them to my pack and geting out of there. I drove back up Sunday morning with my personal pack mule (my son Jesse) and got the rest out.
