We came, we fished, and none of us got skunked. Present with me were the three J's, and Al J (yes, that's algae) although the bloom was down from last week, according to JLG. Water levels weren't too bad, down perhaps four feet from full. The launch ramp still has a couple feet of concrete submerged.

On the other hand, none of us got anything worth keeping - except memories. It was a gorgeous day at Mantua, glass calm until 11:27 when all of us suddenly starting digging around in our craft for anchors. Blowy. Suddenly.

Good guys and good times. Who needs keepers?

Choppy and Chilly - that was my day!

Good to meet you guys. That was a nice glassy start, then we actually anchored up and the let the wind work us across the lake. Plenty of surface activity (and they weren't CARP!) and a few blips on sonar here and there, but not much love on the hook.

I did connect with one bluegill (a keeper, just hadn't planned on a solo performance on string!) A dinky trout and dinkier bass that didn't even bother to take a shot. Had a few more swipes and tugs.

I was pleased that with fresh mixed gas - the gas motor fired up well, and ran us back to launch quite nicely. Ok - maybe jdawg would have liked the trolling motor speed! More than a few chops across the bow! Didn't take the wakeboarders to make the waves THIS day!

Sounds like a tough day on the pond but good to hear you guys caught a few. Did you get a chance to try the rod holder? What was the water temp there?
