Corps of Engineers Joins Arkansas Businesses to Place Safety Signs at Greers Ferry
HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. - The Army Corps of Engineers, Greers Ferry Project Office in coordination with several North Little Rock businesses are kicking off National Safe Boating Week by adding donated water safety signs at 12 courtesy docks around Greers Ferry Lake.

The signs are in honor of North Little Rock native Jerrod Harper who drowned in 2011 on Greers Ferry Lake as the result of a boating accident.

The signs state "Have a safe day on the lake and remember to wear your LIFE JACKET." It's a simple message and one that the Army Corps of Engineers and the Harper Family hopes boaters will put into practice before boarding their boats.

The signs and fabrication were donated by Mike Parker of Parker Associates, John Nosal with Trade Graphics, and the family of Jerrod Harper at Harper Sheet Metal.
