Congress Approves Funding For Carp Barrier

WASHINGTON, D.C.The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will receive $1.45 million next year to continue its battle to keep Asian carp from entering the Great Lakes. The funding was included in the Energy and Water Appropriations Bill that recently passed the House and Senate.

Under the bill, the corps will receive $500,000 to continue operating a temporary electric barrier blocking entry to Lake Michigan in Romeoville, Illinois. It will receive an additional $200,000 for upgrades that will make the existing barrier permanent. The remaining $750,000 will be used to construct a second permanent barrier near the current site.

If the Lord's willing, You'll be Blessed.
