I suspect that all of the recent commercials on this site have
blown away the fishing stories . ---- C'mon guys , cool your
trade talk a little , PLEASE .

ok ill give it a try. yesterday I went up river about a mile to try out my new fly rod. the wind was cole and in my fase so i only stayed out for only an hour. I spent most of the time trying to keep my fly away from the ducks, they must have thought i was throwing out bread. I had a black and white fly.

didnt catch any fish here in mich. but it was good to get out of the house and play with my new pole. i am realy happy with it. works better than the one i lost.

Hooray for FISHING REPORTS --- NOT COMMERCIALS .

BONELLI PARK SAN DIMAS HOME OF PUDDLE STONE LAKE. AT LEAST THAT WHAT I USED TO CALL UNTIL TODAY. GOT ON THE WATER ABOUT 2:30 PM FIRST SPOT HIT TWO BASS ON A DROPSHOT 10 FT OF WATER 1.5 AND 1.3 SEARCHED OUT A COUPLE OF OTHER SPOTS WITH DEEP DROPS. MOVED OUT TO A POINT ACROSS FROM THE OLD BOAT RENTAL. ONE BUMP SET THE HOOK 5+ ON MY SCALE. TRYING TO FIND THE FORMULA FOR LENGTH AND GIRTH.

Thats good news Shaka. Puddingstone is just over the hill from me. I will have to go drop in and check it out.

THE KEY WAS TO DEAD STICK IT. CAST IT OUT LET IT SIT, SHAKE IT, LET IT SIT. SHAKE IT JUST ENOUGH TO "BREATHE " LIFE INTO YOUR BAIT, YOU SHOULD FEEL YOUR WEIGHT ON THE BOTTOM. BECAUSE YOUR FISHING IN SHALLOW WATER IF YOU LIFT YOUR BAIT TO SHAKE IT YOU WILL MOVE IT TO FAR.

My son fished the outside rocks on the Horseshoe for zilch. They had frozen, prime, bright eyed squid from last week but could not connect no matter how much chum they put into the water. They went inside to a couple of wrecks and caught 9 sculpin and a couple "baby" sandies. They attribute the poor fishing to 50.3 degree water. It doesn't get colder than that.....ever! Oh well that's March. Let's go get a trout. George

I COULD REMEMBER BACK WHEN HORSESHOE KELP ACTUALLY HAD A KELP PADDY IN THE FORM OF A BIG SHOE. IS IT STILL LIKE THIS TODAY?

Shaka: We are both dating ourselves. I can remember giant kelp cutters mowing down the kelp on the Horseshoe and further amazed on how fast it grew back ...one week. I used to get mad at all the horseshoe kelp as it got caught constantly on my barracuda feathers. At the time barracuda brought about $.25 cents a pound and that was school money for me.The last of the kelp is underwater on the deep slopes of the horseshoe. If you can find the kelp look for super fishin! George
