Natsuki Kagehira may beat her own junior angler record set only months before after landing a blackfin seabass (Lateolabrax latus) on January 17 weighing 7.34 kg (16 lb 2 oz). Using a minnow plug she was guided by Kenji Mizumoto, while fishing Senzaki, Saeki, Japan. Her current junior female IGFA record is 5 lb 15 oz (2.7 kg), caught on Oct. 25, 2008, from the waters near Kamae, Japan. As pictured to the left the blackfin seabass is elongate and compressed.
