This day on the Horseshoe the perch were extra aggressive. They ripped our fly-lined squid to pieces in no time flat. I was concerned that the calico bass wouldn't get a shot at the squid before their early removal from the hook by the scavenger perch, so I added another squid to the hook. With two squid it would take longer for those pesky perch to pound them off the hook before a bass decided to eat the bait.
