Lund Boats- ‘Customer Satisfaction’

by: theangler
– At the end of the day, it’s all about customer satisfaction. Without it, good luck making it in today’s competitive business climate. Customer satisfaction is both an art and a science. The artistry comes in the form of customer service, and that goes from the individual dealers all the way to the phone lines at the factory. The science part is about engineering quality boats for over 40 years that meet and exceed angler expectations.

In the marine industry, customer satisfaction is tracked by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA). Recognition for excellence takes the form of a Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) Award, which Lund recently received. Specifically, the CSI Award, actually awards, were given in the ‘Aluminium Outboard Boats’ and ‘Fibreglass Outboard Boats’ categories.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by the NMMA for customer satisfaction,” said Lund’s Director of Marketing Jason Oakes. “But, to be cited in two categories? That really showcases our efforts in both aluminium and fiberglass boat building. I can’t begin to tell you how proud I am of this team.”

Terry Leitz, NMMA’s director of CSI programs, says this about Lund and award recipients in other categories. “As the industry has reacted to recent market realities, these manufacturers have kept a keen eye on consumer satisfaction and quality. This focus will provide great dividends as value conscious consumers consider all aspects of ownership in their purchase process.”
Award recipients will be acknowledged during the annual Industry Breakfast at the 2011 International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) in Louisville, Ky. The Marine Industry CSI Awards program honors participating manufacturers that actively measure customer satisfaction and pursue continuous improvement to better serve the customer. Award recipients achieved and maintained an independently-measured standard of excellence of 90 percent or higher in customer satisfaction over the past year, based on information provided by customers purchasing a new boat or engine during the period between April 1, 2010, and March 31, 2011. The program surveyed more than 30,000 customers throughout the industry.

About NMMA: National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) is the leading association representing the recreational boating industry in North America.
