Club Auction
My fly club's annual auction is coming up in October. Here is a description of one of the items:
"Orvis Impregnated split bamboo rod. Its a 7ft 6wt, 3.5 oz Style 99,single tip, built in 1961 by Skinner and Reed, and professionally refinished by Orvis. This beauty comes with rod sock and case, of course. Bids start at $500 to own this piece of history."
What do you think would be a good maximum bid on this rod?

That is a tuff one. How badly do you want a 6 weight? They are generally for DRIES, but the short it could be a great wet/nymph rod.
Maybe $1,000?

Thanks FGD. Just threw out the question for discussion. No plans on buying another rod just now. Boo or not.
