Question about Pacu...
Can you catch them in the states? Specifically California? My gut feeling tells me no, but I thought I'd ask.
When you see my lady The Tempest float by, you know you've lost. The fish are all gone. Stop fishing then and there and quit with dignity, brah.

Sorry for the late reply,I was just getting caught up with my very first pacu. "I hope you catch that world record Pacu".Big lakes there in Cali means for some big Pacu!.To my guess you should find smaller ones just released from auquarium hobbiest.Look for big lakes with lots of surrounding homes,and with lots of pet stores,big wholesalers and suchChum it up with bread on the surface and let it sink.....here is some interesting reeding you may enjoy http://www.bigfishtackle.com/...?post=370240#p370240

I've never heard of Pacu in California, I'm pretty sure there are no fishries with Pacu in them.

I made a video of chumming for Pacu,I have a big lake so I usually get two loafs of bread.Sometimes if you get the birds and ducks feeding on the bread that will attract the Pacu,splashing,ect....Pacu are very curious..You want to chum an area then move along elsewere.You may see find them rolling on the surface.Good luck finding a Pacu.Check your local fishfarms,you can always put some in a small lake and see how they do,come back and feed them time to time... Get them to now you,tame them, then one day catch emWink.I'm stocking some lakes around here with them 6$ for a baby PacuSmile
