Search Engines
Everyone knows about the big one - Google. But what about other search engines? Must we all be at the mercy of Google? It's like being at the mercy of Microsoft for an Operating System!! Although the majority of people use google, there ARE other search engines out there that can help drive traffic to your site.

Examples are MSN, Yahoo, and Lycos. What other search engines do you know about?

Let's try to get a list together of all the search engines. I'll edit them each into this post with a link to them so we can all take advantage of the additional traffic that they can provide.

Search Engine List:

Google
MSN
Yahoo
Altavista
Dogpile
HotBot
Lycos
WebCrawler
AllTheWeb
Ask.com
Kanoodle

Here's a few...

Dogpile, HotBot, Lycos, WebCrawler, AllTheWeb, Ask.com

That should give us a presence, I think.

CoolTop secret. But, as you know, much of it is accessible with a polite request.

Thanks for the info on Kanoodle. I took a look at it. Looks like a decent search engine. My site only has its home page indexed with them (so far).

As far as advertising and/or partnering with them, they seem rather intrusive (pop-unders, cookies and tracking of users, etc.)
